Absolutely AWFUL!! 1/5/2011

Petco is the worst place you can buy food for your dog from. Its like the taco bell of dog food. Do NOT take your dog here for training. One of the trainers, Darryl, teaches classes and helps people with any problems they are having with their dogs. At first glance he seems to know what he's talking about but he's just blowing smoke. His dogs aren't potty trained, but he lies and tells everyone that he taught them in 3 days. One of his dogs attacks other dogs, and the other one doesn't listen and gets beaten by him for it. It's ridiculous how many people eat his stuff up. Worst trainer ever. Do not waste your money!! Do your research before choosing a trainer or daycare. more

They will not ask if I need help but you have to find them and ask and hope they know an answer to your problem. Of course there are some that are super and know everything there is to know about dogs but like i said,some. I took my businness to Pet Supreme in Sylmar. I never knew they were there until my husband saw them from the 210 freeway 2 years ago. I thought the dog fod i bought was always expensive but they have it for like $10 cheaper. I think Ill stick to them and hope they dont raise prices to match these corporate clowns. more

PETCO = THE FAST FOOD OF PET STORES 5/19/2009

Anyone who is an animal lover, STAY AWAY FROM Petco. I bought 4 fresh water fish from them in the past 2 months and every one of them has died. I tested my tank water and it was perfect. The staff at Petco are useless. They have no knowledge whatsoever about the products or the animals they sell. One of the 4 fish I owned got sick and I looked up the disease on the net and it was easy to treat. I went back to Petco to get some meds for the fish and the dude working in the fish section had no clue as to what I was talking about. Every time I went to Petco, I saw tank after tank with 2 or more dead fish in them. THEY DON'T CARE FOR THE ANIMALS. SCREW PETCO. I now go to SCALES N TAILS.. more

Great News! 2/6/2009

This store just was completely remodeled and looks absolutely amazing! If you haven't been in awhile it's worth coming back! It really is like a whole new store. more

Filthy Store 10/25/2008

Always reeks of dead animals and urine. Never enough wet/dry dog food. Corporate management could care less. This store has been a disaster for years. Note the previous comment about dead animals. This is the Van Nuys store on Sepulveda. more

Petco 3/27/2008

If you have a pet and want to treat them right you should take them to Petco. Whether its for supplies or food or even grooming they have it all based on you pets needs. Not to mention it is fun looking at new pets to add to your family. I would reccommend it to anyone with a pet because they have great service and are always happy to help. more

Good PetCo 1/25/2006

This is a pretty good PetCo. They have fairly complete coverage of all your pet-types, including a large live aquarium section, birds, small mammals, etc... They also have a grooming service. We've saved money by joining their pet club (over time). Only drawback is almost no vet service at this petco (aside from I think a travelling vet that can do minor things like an injected tag). PROS: Large, good coverage of all types of pets, grooming service CONS: No vet on staff more

dog grooming and return of nasty fish 2/13/2005

They did an excellent job on Jenni after she was really sick. They were loving and gentle with her and did a great job getting her all cleaned up. She came out happy and smelling really good. There was no nipping or biting after they were done with her and that's always a sign of a really caring staff. The price was really fair and they had her in and out in 2 hours. Also, I had a really nasty cat fish that I got from them as a baby and he became a real bad guy...so I talked to them and they took him back. I didn't get a refund, but that was OK..the fish got a really good home...I'm sure some guy bought him, and instead of my feeling guilty about feeding him to a cat he will go into a realy good tank. I've done this with them before and they are so really great about it. This is definitly one of the best stores around. more
