Pet Vet Animal Hospital

In reference to the two negative previous reviews, it sounds like they had some unpleasant experiences, which is unfortunate. However, it does not make sense that IF they received poor care/customer service, then why did they return ""numerous"" times to the clinic, with numerous pets? If I receive inadequate service at a place of business, then I do not return to that place of business again, especially if that means caring for my beloved pets. I do not want to discount their feelings in any way, but it is very difficult to imagine The Pet Vet not providing wonderful care to both pets and their families. Every place of business has the occasional negative review....however I can't help but wonder why a person would return to the clinic if they truly felt like the care they received in the past actually resulted in the death of their pet. I have great respect for the Pet Vet and the great work they do!!! more

Horrible! Totally worthless meanest Vet I have ever met. He killed several of my beloved ones during his "expert" surgery (joke). Brian King is an arrogront POS! Plus, he overcharges. more

I have been going to this practice for 24 years and they have always had outstanding vets who have cared for our cats and great empathic vet techs . Having just dealt with the death of a beloved elderly cat, I find that they are always extremely understanding of the pet/owner bonds . I would reccomend them highly. more

I disagree with the previous poster. I had to put down my 13yo hound dog Roscoe around last Christmas and EVERYONE there treated us with compassion and tried desperately to comfort me and Roscoe at this time. They called for a couple days to make sure I was alright. They listened to me about my concerns and helped with makng the tough decision. I miss that pooch every single day but I tell you these folks were great. I take my other dog there and I will after she is gone too. Thanks for treating me and Roscoe so well. It will always be remembered. more

I had heard great things about this vet clinic from everyone in the area and when I arrived I was not disappointed...Relaxing atmosphere, down to earth staff, and they didn't charge the usual inflated prices you find everywhere else. more

Pet Vet is an eclectic veterinary clinic with a full staff of technicians, receptionists, and three very caring veterinarians. I say eclectic because "this ain't your usual vet clinic"...the decor is very artsy, with bright colors and paintings to help lift your spirits when your loved one's in for that vet visit. Dr. King, Dr. Luke, and Dr. Van Liew are amazing veterinarians and will take care of your pets in the best possible ways. \r Charlie has an affiliated side-business, Dog Daze Doggie Daycare if you have one of those "separation anxiety" dogs that needs/wants to play all day while you're slaving away. :) more

While I had the upmost respect for this outfit when I first moved to Charleston in 1987, their service has gone down hill. I had two dogs I had to bring in for critical care this year. In both instances, I was placed in an examination room with doctors who were obviously not attentive to my needs. They would come in, leave, come in, leave, etc. leaving me distraught. I had to made a tough decision on whether or not to put one of my dogs to sleep and was treated very cold. After I made the decision to put my companion of 16 years to sleep, I was simply told to wait for a lady to provide the consent forms. I was in tears. It took her 10 minutes to bring the forms, then it was 20 minutes before the doctor came back and asked me if I wanted to hold the dog during the injection. My poor dog was looking at me suffering the whole time and I was a wreck, so I told him I could not bear it any more and left. Most recently, I had another dog who had passed out. The dog was alive when I took him to the vet and I was treated disrespectfully, given a low priority, and as a consequence the dog died. I was not satisfied the dog was given proper care. He had his eyes open on the way to the vet. I would never recommend this agency again to anyone, although I used to recommend them to everyone I knew. They used to be great, but are now a liability. You would be better off taking your pet elsewhere. Pros: Are well known in the area because of their previous professionalism Cons: Quality has diminished significantly over the years. If you need critical care for your pet, go elsewhere more

Dr. Luke really knows his job. He is compassionate, caring and innovative. You can be sure your pet is in the best of hands with Dr. Luke. He will go the extra mile for your best friend, your pet!\r \r Dr. Luke has cared for 4 of our English Bulldogs, and Himalayan and Siamese kitties for over 10 years. We have every confidence in him and trust his advice. In several cases, we were able to extend the lives of our pets by over a year by following his advice.\r \r You can trust Dr. Luke! Pros: Expertise, dedication, compassion. Cons: Be patient during open office hours. Make an appointment for zero wait time! more
