Best

I think I have found my forever clinic for my little chi's. We have had toy breeds for over 30 years and have always had adequate care where ever we took them, but I have to say ...

Uncaring 1/28/2010

I boarded my two dogs over the weekend. This place was more expensive but the boarding area seemed really nice and had alot more room than most I had visited. I dropped them off on Saturday and when I picked them up on Monday and got them home they both smelled of urine. My dogs have been crate trained all thier life so I doubt they had accidents and even if they did why didn't anyone clean them up. It makes me think they let my dogs lay in urine the whole time. I also paid extra for a kennel that has access to the outside which I later found out was never used because they don't go outside when no one is there or if it is cold outside so why the difference in price. Later on I called to complain and I was told the office manager was not in and they would leave her a message. I didn't here back from her for four days. Guess she cares just as much as the staff does about my pets. When she finally did call me back she practically called me a liar and said maybe my dogs urinated on themselves on the ride home. I will NEVER take my dogs there agian. Pros: Nice Building Cons: Uncaring Staff Overpriced more

Overpriced 12/2/2008

I am not one to complain unless there is a worthy complaint. I will also write letters of recommendation. Since our move here last year, we have been clients of the Pet Health Center. Courteous staff, but outrageously overpriced. Once I mentioned the excess price - the quality of care went down. Prior to me mentioning the excess price of one medication..the staff urged me to bring my cat in for a second visit. We discussed his condition, I put this second visit off for the weekend and called Monday morning to make an appt. They urged me not to wait, due to allowing time for the procedure. They chose to do a CBC and more x-rays on a 13 year old cat with constipation. $193 later, they said that the cat was fine and to increase his laxative. I felt like they took advantage of my feelings for my animal, and have not followed up with me like they have in the past. They sold me Lactulose 60cc (2oz) at $20.00. This costs them no more than 30 cents an oz. Even if they charged me $10 they would make over 800% profit. Then there is the x-rays on top of the x-rays they took days earlier. WHY DIDN'T THEY RECOMMEND THE INCREASE OF THE LAXATIVE PRIOR TO THE URGENT CARE THEY DIDN'T GIVE! Is there a reasonable vet out there who also cares for the owners of all these animals? Pros: Nice new building Cons: Inability to express your views about the high price. more

Extra nice to my little chihuahuas! Clean, courteous, NICE!!!!!! 6/27/2008

I think I have found my forever clinic for my little chi's. We have had toy breeds for over 30 years and have always had adequate care where ever we took them, but I have to say that this hospital goes above and beyond our expectations. Our little dogs were not frightened and did not seem to mind being examined by strangers ( now friends) . They were even patient with the one we have who has a somewhat tarnished reputation. They even changed to tiny needles for the vaccinations because our babies have tender skin! The hospital is clean, smells nice, has extremely hospitable staff and the docs are little dog lovers too! We took a tour and were very impressed by the boarding areas. We don't travel often, but when we do, our "kids" will be staying there! Pros: Great parking, nice play yard, clean, pleasant staff, toy breed friendly Cons: none more

Bad Grooming 6/10/2008

We have been taking our dog (now dogs) to Pet Health for nearly four years now for grooming. The groomer they had when we first started going was really good. She seemed to be able to follow our instructions on the form. We were always happy. Since about a year or so ago after they got a new groomer, this one just can't seem to get it right. The first time it looked like we had never even taken our dog to be groomed there was so much hair still left on him. Now we have two dogs (both pekingese) and we took them yesterday. This time she shaved them! We did not ask for that. My husband was the one who filled out the paperwork so he was the one who called about it. The groomer said she followed some sort of directions on the form about how many inches to leave or something to that effect, but the thing is that there's not any inches of hair left at all. They are shaved! Not a hair cut, they are shaved. This is 45 dollars a pop for each dog. They didn't even offer any sort of reimbursement. The receptionist told my husband that she thought they were still cute, but number one, her opinion is not what counts, and number two, they look awful to us. So I would think twice about having your pet groomed there or ask to talk to the groomer personally instead of just filling out the form and handing it over to the receptionist because obviously there are communication problems with that stupid form they use. more
