Editorial review from Citysearch 11/27/2012

This vet is HORRIBLE! My dog was hemorrhaging in the final stages of cancer when my little boy and I rushed him to the vet to be put down last Saturday evening. When I inquired about the cost of euthanasia and realized it was far more than I could afford, the vet and his assistant heartlessly refused to help in any way and let us walk out the door without offering any advice, guidance, or even an ounce of compassion despite our obvious devastation. I WOULDN'T send my worst enemy to this facility. They are cold, indifferent, and made it clear that they care far more about money than helping a suffering animal. more

SHE DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET!!!!! Do NOT go here! 1/18/2012

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!! This place is the worse place I have ever been too. I called and the doctor answered the phone. I explained to her that my pitbull had been acting funny, not eating, losing weight and lethargic. She asked me if I wanted to come in, that I should wait to see my regular vet in the morning. I asked her if she was open, she said yes. I let her know that I wanted to bring my dog in to be seen. Once there, the tech greeted us and was much help. But once the doctor came in, everything changed. The doctor acted like we were inconviencing her by being there. She had her tech give us the cost of the medical bill THEN charged us $500 more on top of that. She said that my dog had something in his stomach and needed to go in surgery right now. I asked her to call me to let me know how he was doing. She did not call. I called and talked to her tech. Her tech was really nice on the phone and explained to me that killian was not in surgery yet. I wanted to talk to the doctor, but she refuse to talk to me. 3 days, killian was there and on the 4th day then he went in for surgery. The tech was the only person who was communicating with me. The 4 days my dog was there the doctor would not call me to let me know what was going on with my dog. What I do not understand is that she wanted to go into surgery that night and waited 3 days later to do the surgery. The doctor does not care to see patients and will not communicate with you. She will talk you into going somewhere else and when you talk to her face to face, she will tell you that her business lines are not working. Every time I called, I called the number on the card I was given. There is no respect there from the doctor, no communication with the doctor ( if you do get through to her, she is mean and yells at you ) and you will get your pet back in bad condition. My dog does not act the same, he runs from people now and acts like he has been hit. I dont know what happened to my dog there, but I will NEVER take my dog back there AGAIN!!! more

The very, very, VERY best. 12/27/2011

I rushed my dog to Midway after he ate some chocolate and I was unsuccessful in inducing vomiting with hydrogen peroxide. Some background: My dog is 13 y.o. and has a complicated case of IBD. I have spent tens-of-thousands of dollars in the last 7 months taking him to specialists at CVRC in Annapolis for treatment (including surgery). He has also been to the emergency clinic there three times over the same period. I also have toiled on the internet doing research -- just so that I can ask informed questions about my dog's disease. But I have been unhappy with the care he's received from CVRC. It's dispassionate, removed and rushed. And they have not successfully treated his IBD. So I decided to take a leap of faith and bring him to Midway last night. I am SO GLAD I did. Dr. T saw my dog immediately. His temperature had plummeted and he was in shock. His abdomen was distended. She induced vomiting, started him on IV fluids and got him stabilized. He stayed the night under her watchful eyes. Dr. T. performed an ultrasound, took x-rays and did a complete lab profile on him. She was in constant contact with me throughout the long night.... reassuring this very, very worried mom that everything was going to be OK. Upon picking-up my dog this afternoon I spoke with Dr. T. at length about my little guy's disease. She offered the most detailed, thorough, thoughtful evaluation of his diagnosis that I have ever received. She went through treatment protocols, including supplements, diets, and medicines with me. I also toured the facility -- including the cages, recovery rooms, operating room, ultrasound, radiography equipment, lab area, etc. This is a state-of-the-art facility, for sure. I will now enlist Dr. T. as my go-to emergency vet AS WELL AS my primary care vet for my dog AND my two cats. I am a neurotic pet owner. I love these little creatures with all my heart. And my only desire is for them to have the very best care possible. I have 100% confidence that Dr. T. will give them that. more

First of all, the head Veterinarian here is, without a doubt, one the most skilled professionals I have ever seen. Her judgment, intuition, and thoroughness are a rarity today. The clinic is modern, and truly equipped for any contingency. Although common with most vets, she had an extraordinary warmth and compassion with my boys. We came here after our normal vet (who is also excellent) wasn’t properly equipped to handle the abdominal diagnosis and intervention. I read a rather negative review on here, and I cannot say that I had a similar experience. Of course, not being privy to that person’s experience, I cannot comment with certainty. However, I will say that it sounds more likely than not a competing vet making slanderous remarks. The market is obviously tough, and unfortunately professionals regress into childish tactics to maintain business. My own regular felt a little threatened, so it is understandable. Overall, this center has my highest recommendation. You can private email me for more details on the condition of my dogs and why the vet here performed incredibly well. more

No good deed goes unpunished! 10/30/2011

The Veterinarian did a free service abdominal ultrasound for the groomers dog. As well the veterinarian helped the groomer when she nipped another dog at work. Shame to the groomer for posting repeatedly all this nasty comments. If anyone else was in her shoes would have said a million thanks. The groomer knew that there should be a sedation for ultrasound, this is a norm. The groomer did not pay for any of the veterinary services!!!! The veterinarian helped her at no charge when she nipped terribly one of the dogs ears(while she was grooming). as they say no good deed goes unpunished! more
