Best

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. The Prices are great and the portions are big. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to try great Persian Food. If you are...

Worst

The menu literally says, ""please be patient, 45 minute wait on all meats."" This is by far the wierdest thing I've ever read. I've had kubidehs from places in Virginia, Atlanta...

horrible service 7/11/2006

the food is nothing special! the service horrible, we were ignored by our server most of the night! Cons: food, service more

A favorite 3/26/2006

This place is my favorite for a leisurely meal out. The food takes a long time to prepare, but is worth the wait. We often order an apetizer. My favorite dish of all is the addas polo, a vegetarian rice dish. The baklava is the best I have had anywhere. Pros: food, flavor Cons: long wait for entree more

Great little place to have good Persian food 3/21/2006

I don't care much about the buffet since to me it is not very authentic. But if you go there at night and order the authentic Persian food (Kabab, Ghormehs, lima beans and rice....) It is very good. Great people and very friendly place. more

Best Vegi Food 3/7/2006

I advise everybody in Portland to go in this place. It's a very tipical restaurant where you spend very good times. Excellent food for vegeterian too. This restaurant isn't a fast food which serve you the food after 10min, you may order an appetizer which are very good like the Baba Ghannooj or the excellent Nazkhatun. After that, the Entrees are good, I've tried the Fessenjan, which is chicken with a pomegranate sauce. I've tried too the Lamb Shank, the Vegi-Paella and the Kabob Shish Leek.\r Well everybody will find his perfect food. They have Chicken, Lamb, Kabob, Seafood and Vegi food which are very good.\r They have an excellent Persian Hot Tea and the best Baghlavah I ever eat. Not soo sweet as everybody know it.\r \r So if you have a free night on Portland and you are hungry, I advise you to go there. Pros: Persian Music, Staff, Food Cons: Hard to find a parking more

Go on a weeknight! 2/18/2004

Thijs place shines for dinner, especially during the week. Very vegetarian friendly, with some two dozen options. Weekends are busy, but my wife and I went on a Thursday night at 8 p.m. and were the only ones in the place! For apps, we had the lentil soup, which was excellent, as well as the cucumber salad, which also was very good. For entress, we had the green bean kohresh(sp?), which was delightful, and the Dolmahs, which were top notch. We also had a nice bottle of wine (yellow tail shiraz), and the bill was $50. Pros: reasonably priced, nice staff, good service Cons: , self-serve salad more

Good place to go for dinner 4/5/2003

I recommend this place for dinner but not for lunch. I went there for the lunch buffet and was not really impressed (although it was quite inexpensive). However, when I lived in Portland I liked to go there for dinner and particularly enjoyed the Chicken Cabernet and another dish which I cannot remember the name (something like Chicken ""Frenejan"", which had a pomegranate sauce). The appetizers are also very good (there are two yogurt-based dips and a couple of eggplant-based that were particularly good). more

Not bad at all 1/11/2003

The food is good, the service is friendly. Be aware that some items can take up to an hour to prepare, the waitstaff should inform you of this when you order. The salad bar should be skipped, at 7:30 on a Friday it was empty of many things, including two out of three dressing selections, and I was informed that they had no more of the missing items, the soup on the other hand was fantastic. Pros: menu selection, flavor, cheap parking nearby Cons: long wait, salad bar not maint. more

One of the Best 11/22/2002

This was one of the best restuarants I have been to in a long time.Wonderfull atmosphere, great quality and good service.Make sure to try there Fessanjan .It is amazing how inexpensive this place is compared to the amount of food you get.Good place to take vegatarians.I would for sure recommend this place to everyone. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Quality, friendly Inviroment more

Pretty good (for a lunch buffet). 10/2/2002

I thought the food was pretty good, although it probably would have been better if we had ordered from the menu (we had the lunch buffet). The cheese tortellini with tomato sauce was strange thing to see in a Persian restaurant, but several of the vegetable dishes had a nice flavor. Much milder than I expected. Bread would have been nice, but there was none on the buffet. This restaurant's best feature is the service which was excellent. The lunch buffet was also very inexpensive. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: No parking more

What's with all the 10s? 8/15/2002

Note: if more than half your reviews are 10s and you believe this place and Taco Bell to be authentic, then please get out more! Taste is relative, but everyone I've met that has a flare for Persian food, thinks this place is a major dissapointment. A previous review was accurate: the buffet is horrible! Bland food, dry rice. Pros: nice servers Cons: Persian food, everything else more

Exceptional 7/16/2002

It has been years now that I have heard good things about this place. So finally my mom and I decided to go.It surely lives up to its reputation.Excellant food and a warm and friendly atmosphere. There food was fresh and athentic. The servers were so so nice and helped us choose the perfect dinner.I would 100% recommend going. Pros: warm atmosphere, inexpensive, fresh ingredients more
