I met with the physician periodically to receive more or different medications (antidepressants), none of which I could truly say alleviated my symptoms. I now understand that approximately 70% of patients receiving antdepresssant medications (SSRIs, SNRIs) report receiving no discernable improvement in their depressive symptoms. The person I spoke with for therapy, a clinical psychologist, kept glancing at a clock located on an end table at the end of a sofa across the room during our sessions. I guess I wasn't a very interesting patient. But my reasons for being there were interesting and important to me. Patients deserve better treatment than this, in my estimation.
Pros: Pleasant office staff.
Cons: Therapist a poor listener; physician prescribed large dosages of medications.
