Best

Pleasant and capable staff. Gets the job done. Best doctor's office I've been to and since we seem to move every five years I've seen quite a few. Highly recommended.

Good but could be better 2/10/2009

I have been going to this practice since 2000. When they were smaller, the experience couldn't have been better. As they grew and moved to their current location, the size has really impeded quality service. The care, once you get in, is good. But getting in can be a challenge. I've had two instances in the past year when I called with a UTI, and was told that I could come in a day later. I have found that going to the clinics in the pharmacies is easier and less hassle. If I'm going to have to see a nurse prac, at least the clinics get me in and out before this group can even schedule an appointment. Another instance... my son broke his finger. Rather than the physician looking at it, the nurse prac did. That was two months ago, finger is still not healed, and we have finally been sent on by Perkins to the specialist. Would have been easier if they had done that in the first place. Actually, the only reason I stay with this practice is that Perkins does know my children and their history. He's great... it's the practice that has some issues to resolve. more

Horrible Place 7/7/2008

I do not recommend this doctor or this office to anyone. My son was a preemie. A couple of days after he left the hospital, we took him for his first visit. They took a blood sample to see if the jaundice was getting better or worse. This was on a Monday. FRIDAY I called them because I hadn't heard anything. They said they would call me back in 15 mins. 3 HOURS LATER, they called back and said they LOST HIS BLOOD SAMPLE!! Since it was Friday and their offices were about to close (since they waited so long to call me back!!) we had to go to the hospital and get blood drawn. I wasn't so mad that they lost his blood sample; I was mad because they never called me back to get another. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE. They are very busy and do not spend time with their patients. We are young (early - mid twenties) and are first time parents. This was not a good place for us to be. The doctor we have now is great! He spends plenty of time with us answering all questions and giving good instructions. This is the way it should have been. I hope this is helpful. more

Nothings Perfect, but my experience was Great 3/26/2008

Doctor Perkins was the doctor that saw my son when I had him at Stonecrest and I was so impressed by his great bedside manner that I asked if he would be my son's doctor. I like this doctor because he really seems to understand the stress of being a first time parent and he addresses the unspoken needs of someone who has many different people telling you what is best for your child. He has been very supportive of breast feeding and so is his staff..they allowed me to occupy their break room to feed my son since I have not yet mastered the art of breast feeding in public. I haven't had a bad experience yet with him or his staff which refreshing considering the multiple problems I have had with my own doctors, and even my OB. I think Dr. Perkins is great and I feel lucky to have had him treat my son. more

Bedside manner has a lot to be desired 9/26/2007

JERK. That pretty much describes him. I like all the others I have seen in their office from their office staff, nurses, other doctors, etc. However, at my stay at Stonecrest, I happened to fall under his care. He was condescending, rude, pompous, arrogant and appeared to be a total smart ass. more

Seems OK to me 4/23/2007

As I'm approaching 30, I decided to start looking at my heart health and all those other good things. After 4 appointments (2 with a nurse practitioner), I've gotten in within 15 minutes of the appointed time (as good or better than any other doctor). Everyone I've seen there has been personable if not outright nice. If you want to be the doctor and prescribe your own medications, or don't believe that nurse practioners are more than capable of dealing with your sniffles, then this isn't the place for you. If these guys weren't good then why is it so hard to get an appointment? (Which if you don't need immediate assistance, isn't that difficult.) more

Questionable practices 4/9/2007

I went to see Dr Perkins when she couldn't get into Dr Pullias. I had strep throat and had already completed treatment for 7 days of an expensive antibiotic given by Dr. Pullias that hadn't worked. Once strep was confirmed by Dr Perkins I requested a generic for 10 days to make sure the strep was knocked out and something I could afford. He told me he would give me what he felt I needed. I again let him know I was having trouble getting to work because of sick and couldn't afford a high price prescription. He asked about my cell phone and who paid for that. I told him my mother on a family plan and he went on to say "Your mother will pay for your cell phone but wont pay for your name brand prescriptions!" My mother had nothing to do with it. She would of if I asked but fact was there are generics available that he wouldn't get a kick back on from the pharmaceutical raps that hang out heavy at the offices there. Nurse Practitioners are big with this group of doctors and there is a long wait and it's hard to get in if you get sick. Not someone I'll go see again. I left his office in tears and completely stressed out. more

Dr. Perkins office is good 9/18/2006

The doctor is a good one. He is very verbose and loves to talk which means great answers when you're in but a longer wait to get in. Also for some reason his office never seems to have any appointments to see the doctor unless booked at least a week ahead of time, so if you can predict when you will get sick that will work out well for you. If you can't then you'll end up seeing a Nurse Practioner which is ok I guess, but I like the idea of my doctor knowing me. We've been there now for 2 years and I still am quite sure the doctor doesn't have a clue who I am. I guess if you like high volume practices then go there. He's the pediatrician for my children as well...family practice! I give them a solid 3. more
