Hail damaged the original installation of our pool heater, so we used Performance Solar to reinstall. That part was fine, but follow up service is very poor. Spoke to them in November to schedule inspection of joint leaks. Lady (in Escondido) said they were about a month out for service. Told her OK, but I wanted it on a Wednesday or a Friday. She called back in a month to schedule and offered Tuesday. Didn't work. Reiterated that I wanted Wednesday or Friday. couldn't do it, but could do Monday. Turns out serviceman was in AZ from Escondido. I asked about their guy in Scottsdale in the Airpark. She said we do, but he's somewhere else. Now why would the Scottsdale repairman be out of town to the point that they bring a California repairman to Arizona? Obviously lying. more

These guys should be stopped by the department of consumer affairs. They sold me an expensive pool heating solar system (about 10k) to ""save money on gas and be greener"". What a joke. What the idiots failed to mention is that by placing the panels on the roof the the roof would be completely ruined. In addition because of the distance from the pool and the height gain of the panels on the roof...the pool equipment was overpressured causing the pool filter to literally blow apart about 5 years after it was installed ($500). Even worse, they assured me mounting the panels on the roof would not ruin the roof (only 3 years old at the time). WRONG! The installation holes started leaking 3-4 years after the install. They came back out and charged me another $300 to tune up the system and stop the leaks. 1 year later all the original leaks started leaking again as well as 2 or 3 new ones. The inside of my nice wood roof is completely ruined. Now I have to look at 1) moving the panels off the roof, 2)replacing the roof, and 3) replacing/reparing the interior WOOD ceiling. If I am lucky the cost of doing the above 3 things will be about 20,000 but could be more. So if you add that 20k to the original 10k, your at about 30k to save on cheap natural gas? These guys have cost me more than half the cost of the original pool. These guys are total ripoffs do not do business with them they have no idea what they are doing. more

Performance Solar Inc. installed my pool heater in Nov 2005. It performed well thru this spring, when the drain valve reducer cracked and started leaking. To repair the leak, a FAFCO flanged fitting that clamps into the coupling hose is needed. FAFCO refused to sell me this $5 part, stating I need to obtain it from the installer. The installer will not send me the part, wanting instead a $127 service call, for a 15 minute task to replace the piece. And, oh, they are scheduled two weeks out.
