I have been a loyal patron of Perelander for quite a number of years now, and have always found the service and the quality of their food to be perfect for the type of diet choices that I want to have available to me. However, for the past several months I have noticed that the consistency in the bakery section has taken a turn for the worst. I remember when I could get a muffin for $1.75 a few years ago and did not have a problem paying that much for it because of the quality, and ingredients that it contained. I did not even have a problem when the price was changed to what it is now $2.29, because the store cited increased production cost as its reason for the increase.
The problem started when I began to notice that; (1) the size of the muffins started to get small or smaller depending on the day and who made them, (2) on numerous occasion I would pay for a muffin only to find out after I left the store that it was burnt to the point that it was inedible, (3) and now I have noticed that with each passing week the some ingredients are either removed or changed thereby altering the taste. The lack of any working standard of consistency has for the lack of a better term ?left me with a bad taste in my mouth?. Considering that Peralander has used the current state of our economy as a reason to raise prices on its products, as a customer I should be able to get good quality food for the above normal price that I am paying. Of course one could say that I could take my money somewhere else, but that does not change the fact that there is a problem.
This complain is more that just about the price of a muffin. This is about being able to depend on getting a consistently good quality product when I spend my hard earned money. The staff should be able to recognize that food that is burnt or sub-standard has no place being sold to patrons. There needs to be some form of quality control in place. Thank you for your attention, and I hope to see a change as I continue to be a loyal patron.
Frustrated Customer.
