Pepper Tree is one of the few GREAT remaining horse training and boarding stables left here in the Valley. Many others have sold out, understandably, but the ones who remain have ...

Agree with the others.... 5/3/2012

I stumbled upon these reviews and laughed. Apparently others have had the same experiences as we've had. Things start out good, and even stay good for a while. But the passive aggressive nature, the backstabbing with malicious intent and juvenile behavior by the adults (and not the kids) doesnt make it such a happy place. It's hotter than heck in the summer, the fans didnt work when we were there, and the owner(s) complained if you washed your horse off too often (there's even a note stating if anyone washed their horses off too much, the rates would go up!) and to brush their horses instead. When hay prices went up, the feedings became a little smaller. The stalls flood like crazy in the winter time and the issue isnt remedied by adding more footing. Taking some out of the way too deep arena might be an idea! Sorry for the poor review. The owner(s) need to attend anger management classes...Nobody needs more drama. No wonder people post under pseudonames; they're afraid of retaliation. more

Kind of got to agree with first post 10/7/2011

Beacause they rented out the little houses that the help usually stays in they don't have people on site for a large portion of the day The time limits are so you don't disturb the tenants. And they rile easily! more

Sadly, this review is from a disgruntled client that was asked to leave the barn in mid August. If you don't know what their user name stands for, please google the name (minus the numbers) and you will find this says a lot about the kind of person who wrote this. They are first client we have had in almost a decade be asked to leave immediately. Without question, I know the couple that wrote this review. If anyone even reads this review, I encourage you to come out and visit us, no appointment necessary, and see what we are really about. The fly spray system runs from late May until November, being refilled 3-4 times in that time period. We have one turn out, one sun pen, and one full size sand arena with a dg base, that is tractored daily. This is pretty standard for a facility of our size, especially with 9 of the horses in our barn being owned by us and our trainer. We actually don't have much traffic because most clients have multiple horses. ALL boarders are allowed in the arena at any time. Lessons going or not, you are never locked out of our ring. Coming from people who don't have or like kids, calling our great young clients ""annoying"" is uncalled for. We have a wonderful clientele, adults and kids alike. It is not too surprising this review was discovered, I just feel badly that I needed to clarify it. EVERYTHING said here is completely opposite from how it really is at our facility, EXCEPT for the profits being siphoned off part. Anyone involved in the horse business knows there are no profits! Please come visit us anytime! Jennifer Borow Owner, Peppertree Ranch more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!! 8/22/2011

This place is a joke! 30 horses and only one ring! No turn out, round pen or area to walk. Constant competition for ring time which goes to annoying tweens taking lessons. Constant drama. Can't ride before 7 or after 9 and lessons fill the time between. Hobby barn for kids. Dirt and dust piled on top of stalls INCHES thick! Dark and dingy barn seems like prison for horses. More flies than any other barn. Owner said once fly spray is gone that's it no refills. Standards and poles for jumps are rotted and splintered. All profits siphoned off and no money put back into facility. Terrible footing with sand a foot deep everywhere Ask around other barns in the SFV and hear it from all who left more
