I brought my car to the Hyattsville, MD Pep Boys because of check engine light on. It came on again in less than 3 months after the service. When I returned my car for service, the warranty was denied with explanations that they might need parts other than those installed during the original service. No comments, just avoid this location more

Not trustworthy 12/30/2010

My car was left 11 days ago with a blown head gasket. Estimated repairs for engine, radiator flush, labor: $ 1,800 + machine shop. I live 4 hours away.\r \r No work done on the car but after calling several times...now I need a new radiator, water pump, thermostat, and computer in addition to the original repairs. New total: approx $ 3,200 which does not include the machining of the head. \r \r Towing to a new mechanic. The car was driving fine...head gasket symptoms led me to have the car diagnosed.\r \r Addendum to above. New mechanic charged me $ 186 for new thermostat and cleaned out the radiator. I then drove 4 hours back home. Car is driving fine. more
