People's Restaurant

People's Restaurant is just a great place to go eat and to have drinks with a friend. I went a few days ago with a few girl friends and we sat in the bar. We first ordered appetizers of fried mushrooms and the macho nachos. We ordered some frozen margaritas because they were on special and just wanted to get a taste on how the drinks were. The margarita was suprisingly good for the price and so we ended up ordering a tropical life saver, a strawberry dacquiri, a pina colada, and the peoples paradise. The bartender did an awesome job! I really enjoyed the drinks and would go back just for them. We weren't very hungry after such large appetizers so I shared a plate with one of my friends. We had the chicken fried steak. It was so good and the best thing was that it was hand breaded! Ugh I've tasted a frozen one at other places and I just don't like the taste so I was happy to hear it was hand breaded. The gravy was home made too! I have never had such an experience before. I will definately go back. Great food, service, and drinks! more

We tried Peoples Restaurant when it was at the small location. It recently moved to a larger and I must say ""better"" location. We went there after a few days of being open and I must agree with the other review. The service was bad and the food was not up to par as the old location. I knew that these people would make a turn around and i was right. We have gone back again 3 times and have been amazed on how good they are. Keep it up. Pros: Value, Friendly, Fast more

You won't find another restaurant in Corpus Christi that gives you more bang for your buck than Peoples. Its too bad they dont have a location in Austin, or I would eat there all the time. The food is great and the service exceptional. Everything tastes fresh and expertly prepared. The presentation makes you wonder if you're in an upscale restaurant, but then you remember that the prices are unbelievable... maybe there's room for dessert after all! Its small, but that's part of the wonderful experience you get at Peoples as you are immediately greated as if you were family. Great steaks and shrimp, the best appetizers in town and a good selection of beers. Their nachos (Macho Nachos) are the best I've ever tasted. And to top it off, you get great servings at terrific prices. Don't drive to fast on I-37 or you may miss it. And believe me, you dont want to miss this little piece of heaven.
