Amazing 6/9/2011

Having never rented a 'home' in Europe before we were somewhat apprehensive regarding what we would find when we arrived. Our concerns disappeared before we were unpacked. The web site very accurately portrayed the facilities, ambiance and more-than-friendly and professional services of the staff. The accommodations are spotlessly clean and flawlessly appointed including furnishings that fit in perfectly with the Tuscan country home. more

Amazing 6/9/2011

This year we decided that for our annual management gathering, instead of going to a stuffy hotel and sitting in a dull conference room all day, we'd try something different. So we decided to rent the lovely Le Geant chalet, where we could walk around in sweatpants, lounge around the fireplace and talk about the upcoming year. This was a huge success, i dont think we will be going back to the hotel scenario again. We cooked together, ate around the long dinner table, drank beer, took long walks in the afternoon, and - oh yes - got a lot of work done. The environment was perfect for accomplishing the bonding experience you hope to gain in such a gathering. more

Amazing 6/9/2011

The house was perfect and fit our needs...we hung around the fireplace and played board games, had a few drinks while we played pool, and soaked in the hot tub after a long day on the slopes. We had Guitar Hero set up on the TV in the living room and Mario Cart set up downstairs in the game room. The house was perfect for getting out and hiking up the trails intersecting the property, sleigh-riding out back, and hanging out by the fire pit at night. more

We had a great time as a family at Sierra-La-Mar Villa in Jamaica over Christmas. The views were spectacular. The house was great! We had 14 guests -- 11 of them women; so the six bathrooms and lots of space worked great. What we also had was great service -- from the owner's personal attention, to the great personal chef, and to the daily cleaning service. It was an unbelievable value with all the personal attention associated with a 1st class hotel. more

How can you go wrong when you can spend your vacation time relaxing in the luxury of a beautiful, sparklingly clean 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom fully appointed home complete with it?s own private pool and spa, 2 master suites with king-size beds, game room, covered lanai, massive main TV and a total of 5 televisions and 5 DVD players? Answer: you can?t. And it?s pretty amazing that if you added up the cost of a single room at a Disney property that sleeps 4, and the cost of every meal, snack and beverage, it is LESS EXPENSIVE! We will NEVER stay in a hotel again ? it would be insane! more

The owner had everything we needed for a great time. The bicycles were fun for the kids to ride, the stroller was helpful to get out to the beach with an infant. Toys, games, video library and of course the pool were extremely good for entertaining the family. This home... was really perfect for three couples to share more

We got started the way many tourists do: planning one of those all-inclusive trips. That would have been a very bad mistake. Renting a home is so, so much better. Our home was second row on the beach, four bedrooms, four baths, with a great rooftop view, staff of two, pool, huge kitchen, and all the modern amenities like washer/dryer, etc. It was only an eight-minute walk to the wonderful town and excellent, cheap restaurants. And last, but not least- the rental was a very good price. more

The best 11/3/2010

This is a gem of a find. Friendly hosts, great amenities, and a convenient location for Peninsula Park access. The Garden King is very nice with cooking facilities and a wonderful bed. Free bike rentals are a real plus and made our stay quite reasonable. We would love to go back and do it all over again. more

We reserved a two bedroom cottage, but got upgraded to the three bedroom because of a water heater failure. It was recently redone, and had nice new kitchen appliances. Kitchenware was supplied. The bedrooms were spacious, and there was lots of closet space. The rooms had individual heaters; the living room had a nice fireplace. The bathroom was good-sized, and there was lots of hot water. It was a generally quiet time in the area; we were one of the few guests. The manager was helpful and pleasant. The pool was fine, perfectly warm even early in the season, given a few sunny days to warm it up. They had about 20 bikes available for use (free), they were of decent quality and in good repair. They were all upright style (no recumbents), and a couple were tandem. The state park could not have been more convenient--literally across the street. There's not a lot immediately surrounding the hotel. It's pretty quiet, aside from an occasional sightseeing flight from a small airstrip nearby. It's located about 3 miles from Fish Creek, on Route 42 and County A. The Peninsula Park View is fine for what it is: a nicely maintained collection of rooms and cottages in a quiet spot in Door County. It's a good base for exploring the area by car or bike. We enjoyed our stay. more

We live in Milwaukee, but decided to visit Door County for a winter weekend getaway. We stayed in the Anniversary Suite of the Peninsula Park View Resort. It was wonderful- very cabin-y. The fireplace was great. It was close to Fish Creek, Sister Bay, the state park, and all the best wineries. The suite was quaint and romantic. We took advantage of the winter rates. Overall, we had a wonderful time. more

The best 11/3/2010

My son and I stayed at Peninsula Park-View for two nights. We were looking for a place near the airport; it was only a 15-20 minute walk. The owners are wonderful, laid-back, and friendly. The pool was spotless, and the family game room was very nice. Many of the reviews on this site complain that the decor is dated - so what. It's clean, not musty at all, the beds were just right, the air conditioner quiet, and the bicycles were great. You can borrow bikes all day if you'd like; no extra charge. We rode into Ephraim frequently. If you haven't been riding in years, then stick to Peninsula Park, because it's a good hill climb returning from town. If you're looking for glitz, the latest decor, someone to clean up after you and wait on your every need, then maybe go to Chicago. If you want to hang out with regular folks, this is the place more

The kids loved the pool and there was plenty of running room. They gave us advice to visit PC Junction a super place for lunch or dinner with family. We would stay again and bring more family for a reunion. more
