Let me tell you a little something about Peking Duck Forest! 9/19/2011

First of all, the fact that it's simply called ""Peking Duck FOREST"" is pretty awesome. Picture yourself in the middle of a wooded forest, surrounded by most, juicy, delicious filets of duck with crispy skin and hoisin sauce dripping all over them. That's what I'm talking about. If you go, you need to get the PEKING DUCK! It is F'ing delicious, but will set you back about $15 a head. Not terrible, considering how satisfied you'll be. I also highly recommend the Singapore Chow Mai Fun, which is a lot spicier and tastier than a lot of places. I lived in Forest Hills for 2 years, and during that time enjoyed countless deliveries from the forest of the Peking Duck. more

Overall excellent value 9/20/2009

I have been going here with my wife for seven years (it was where we had our very first date, as well!) Overall the quality of food and service is excellent, and the wait staff is attentive without being overbearing. When there is occasionally a problem with the food, the dish is replaced promptly without any additional cost.\r \r My only mild peeve is that the drinks are not consistent in alcohol quantity. Sometimes the alcohol will be overwhelming, while other times it will be barely noticable. This seems to be mostly a problem with the frozen drinks, and not the other types of mixed drinks. Pros: Fast, attentive service Cons: Drinks are not consistent more

What a ripoff! 6/7/2009

The food was ok, not bad, not great. Your basic Chinese food that you will find at most places. Their small portions are ridiculously small!!! Example, for $7.00 I would like to get more than four pieces and two broccoli florets in my general tso chicken! Of which two pieces weren't event chicken, just fried batter! I suppose the delivery is fast due to the fact that there isn't much to cook. I am really not a picky eater but this was bad. This is just one example and everything ordered was in tiny portions. Literally done in a few bites. They won't see my business again!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Super fast delivery! Cons: Never seen smaller portions in my life! more

Best Chinese Food in Queens 11/14/2008

I have been a customer of Peking Duck Forest since I was a child. The people working there were kind and the food tasted great especially the ?Peking Duck.? Even after returning from college the place has not changed since I left queens. I brought my friends to go eat there last week and it was great, the service and the food was real Chinese food unlike most of the fast food take out Chinese places. If you have time for a sit down lunch or dinner and want good Chinese food here is where you?ll get it. Pros: Great Pecking Duck and great beverages Cons: can take a little while but is worth the wait more

Hairy Meal & WORST customer Service 3/26/2008

Peking Duck WAS my favorite Chinese restaurant in QNS, up until today. At lunch, I found a hair on my plate & I called the waiter over to show him my findings. First, he said that maybe it was my hair. I told him that that was impossible, since I have long curly hair & this was clearly a short straight hair. Then he inspected my plate & tried to figure out where the hair came from. He kept asking me if I knew where it came from. I told him that the rice could be the source (I had general tso's chicken & rice). He offered me a new rice. I said ""no"", that I had lost my appetite & didn't want anything. I was pretty grossed out that I had eaten about 1/2 of my dish. He told me he would ""cancel it"" and I agreed. I assumed that he wouldn't charge me for my meal but I was wrong. Both meals were on the check. When I approached him about it, he told me that he had offered me a new rice and since I refused, he still had to charge me. I told him that I thought he would ""cancel it"" from the bill but he refused. I asked to speak to the manager. I explained the situation. He was unapologetic and said that usually when something like this happens, they offer a fresh dish. In this case they offered me a fresh rice (mind you, it didn't matter that the hair was on the plate with rice AND chicken.) They never even offered a fresh dish, just the rice. What was I supposed to do, Ignore that the hair was on my plate & continue to eat out of the same dish with a FRESH rice? GROSS!! I tried to explain to him that I am a faithful customer and would NOT comeback. He didn't care one bit! Not once did he apologize! \r Listen, this is not the first time I find a hair on my meal and i'm sure it won't be the last, but I was extremely disappointed on how they handled it. I've given them a lot of business over the years and was NOT expecting such bad customer service and nasty attitude. Talk about leaving a bad taste in my mouth! Pros: good duck Cons: hairy meal, WORST service more

Trust the name: the peking duck is excellent 7/1/2006

Because we were too tired to go from our hotel over into Manhattan, we took the concierge's advice to check out the Austin St area. There are lots of restaurants there -- and I was really happy that we settled on this one. It is not a very stylish place, but we had some of the best Chinese food we ever had. Their Peking duck is delicious! They prepare it as little rolls at your table. The service is friendly and attentive. (And, oddly, they serve pretty good sangria, too.) Two thumbs up! more

Quaint place, excellent duck! 12/4/2005

Been here several times. Not very fancy, but the food here is very good, especially for a restaurant outside of a Chinese area. You must try the staple dish, the peking duck. The duck is crispy and juicy and has a lot of flavor. The seafood here is also very fresh. Oh, and the noodle dishes are excellent cause they are made on site. The wait staff was very polite and attentive. The only thing that I was unhappy about was that one time, the restaurant received a delivery of supplies and the rolled it in through the dining area into the back kitchen, with the deliverymen shouting loud things to each other in chinese. This happened while many diners were enjoying their meal and it was rudes. But otherwise, if you are looking for some good authentic Chinese food in Queens, definitely give this place a try. Pros: good duck, noodles, attentive staff, free parking Cons: mediocre ambience more
