Excellent and Consistent Espresso 5/24/2008

Peets makes the best and most consistent espresso around. I keep coming here because the baristas are trained and never let your shots sit for more than 10 seconds. The chances of getting a properly pulled shot at a ""non-corporate"" coffee house is next to none, and Peets is definitely a lot less cold and corporate than Starbucks. The quality of the roasts used is also excellent, full of flavor and complexity, and much better than Starbucks. The baristas are friendly and the service is quick. The brewed coffee is bitter, however, and I recommend sticking to espresso drinks. Pros: great espresso, great service, two shots of espresso in 12 oz latte Cons: brewed coffee is bitter more

SB is for Beginners 1/20/2005

I consider myself a bit of a coffee snob. Have been drinking Peets for about 3years now. No matter where I go on my travels I always search out a Peets house or kiosk, or anyplace that brews it. There is no coffee that compares. SBs has only cornered the market share because of PR, not because of their coffee. Peets never leaves that after-taste of over-roasted beans on your palate. It is always smooth, delicious, and PERFECT. So if you are one of those SB drinkers you are only in training, a begginer just learning to enjoy coffee. Give your tastebuds a treat you will never forget, and leave avoiding SB like the plague, drink Peets. more

THE BEST COFFEE!!! 7/30/2004

Moving from Berkeley, CA (the ""birthplace"" of Peet's) to Portland, OR, I was/am extremely excited that I can continue to enjoy some of the best coffee in the world. Great roasting for drip coffee, outstanding expresso roasts, and an excellent assortment of teas with flavorful scents & tasts. While there is good coffee out there, Peet's stands out as exceptional. Pros: TASTE!!! (excellent), Great people/service, ambiance more

yummy mocha 10/14/2002

My favorite mocha by far and I own a cafe! Why can't I do this at my place? If I could only get the best barista in the place to move to Saint Louis. Pros: lots of seating, friendly service Cons: not in Saint Louis more

The best by far 9/19/2002

Peets is absolutely the best coffee in Portland and the entire West Coast. The pastries they offer are not up to par, but the coffee is unsurpassed. more

The Best Coffee Ever 9/18/2002

I drank Peet's coffee when I lived in the San Francisco bay area. When I moved to Portland seven years ago, I tried other brands, but none could compare with Peet's. The company was not yet here in Portland, so I began ordering it to be delivered. I've kept my delivery active even with the advent of two shops in Portland, as I do not live close to downtown or east Portland. Like clock work, I get my delivery of Peet's every six weeks. I enjoy visiting the shops when in the area and the tea selection and other items being sold are also very good. My only concern is that Peet's Coffee and Tea must maintain its high quality, as the company expands. Pros: Rich coffee, good pastries more

We need more Peet's in Portland. 9/17/2002

I have been a fan of Peet's for years and have not been able to find anything like their rich tastes anywhere else. more

Best Coffee of the West 8/27/2002
