Delicious Coffee and Tea 9/1/2010

Way better than Starbucks. This is right next to Grendel's Den in the central part of Harvard Square. It's usually very crowded, which makes it hard to enjoy, but it's still great. more

Best Coffee I've ever Had 1/13/2007

I've never sat down here for coffee but I am a regular of buying whole beans to bring home. I've always had very very friendly service (often the same fellow who is professional and friendly) and when I get my pound to go I also get a cup of whatever is brewing to wet my whistle. Hands down the best coffee. I am a truly addicted Peet's fan and will continue to be. Pros: Best Coffee Ever, Friendly Service, Free cup with purchase of pound Cons: Hard to park in Harvard Square to pick up a quick pound of beans for home more

A Taste of Home 9/22/2006

Whenever I am in Boston and am missing the San Francisco Bay Area too much, I go to Peets. This Berkeley coffee institution is what Starbucks was modeled after. The owners were San Francisco Bay area residents who moved to Seattle and modeled it after Peet's and the rest is history. Great Northern California ambiance, great coffee (much better than Starbucks and, goodness sakes, Dunkin Donuts) and pastries. I love Peet's! Pros: Great coffee, great pastries, great ambiance. more

The Absolute Best Coffee 10/15/2005

Peet's Coffee has absolutely superior quality coffee. Their varied daily drip coffees are always strong- and satisfying, and their bar drinks are consistently prepared, My favorite is the soy mocha...don't miss this coffee. more

The real deal 6/10/2004

Being an original Coffee Connection employee I was crushed when George moved on. Peet's defnitely fills the gap. The staff is super knowledgable when it comes to beans. Professional and on the money. They rock. I just don't get why Starbucks is so popular. Their coffee is really poor quality compared to Peets. Maybe it is because there aren't enough Peet's. [Hint Hint] Pros: Dead on Staff, Great Beans, Rotating "specials" Cons: , desperate? WF stocks, Not enough Peets!!! more

By far the best 11/29/2002

Peet's is definately the best. Before it was in Boston I mail ordered. Too bad they took it out of AuBonPain. Fills a hole that was left by Coffee Connection!!! Pros: coffee!!! Cons: not enough locations more

Perfection 10/14/2002

Simply put, the best coffee anywhere -- if you like dark, rich coffee. Among the few locations throughout the Boston area, a more consistent cup of coffee cannot be found. Even the decaf is astoundingly rich and flavorful -- never bitter. A bit pricey, but cheaper than a trip to Seattle -- and a little tastier! If only Starbucks would sell 1/2 their stores to Peet's.... Pros: Coffee, Ambiance Cons: Few locations, Parking more

best coffee in town 10/14/2002

Their Italian roast is SO delicious!!! I love its robustness and flavor. This is a great pick me up in the afternoon. They also sell great loose tea. My two favorites are the Yin Hao and Jasmine Pearl Downy. I have both kinds at work and brew throughout the day. Pros: great coffee selectio, great tea selections more

peet's is bitchin' 7/18/2002

Peet's is the only chain in town that employs people who love coffee. Pros: great coffee Cons: not many locations more

great people-watching 6/12/2002

there's nothing like grabbing an iced coffee and chilling out outside peet's watching the harvard square world go by. basically, this is a slightly cozier version of starbucks, with a coupla frozen drinks and good gourmet blends. not much room to sit inside, but like i said--the best seats in the house are on a bench in the park out front. more
