A Downtown Los Gatos Favorite 3/16/2008

I was surprised to see the negative reviews and felt the need to submit my first ever restaurant review to defend this wonderful place. The atmosphere is casual and festive; the food is consistently great; and even the house margaritas are very tasty, and actually contain recognizable amounts of tequila, unlike margaritas can be at other Mexican restaurants. It's actually the only Mexican restaurant where I will order the house margarita! We've been going to Pedros on a regular basis for years, and I even had my husband's surprise 30th birthday party there, with friends and family waiting in the somewhat-sectioned-off back room. We visit often with family and groups of friends. Family favorites include Salmon de Morelia, Mole Rojo and Grilled Veggie Burrito. I highly recommend this place for a casual date, a gathering of friends, or a family dinner out. Pros: ambience, quality of food Cons: inconsistent service more

Horrible Service! 9/20/2006

We have tried this restaurant three different times. The first time it was a busy Sat. night and we had slow service and had to hunt down our server to get the check. The second time was a week night (read: not busy), we were seated by a girl who took our drink order, brought the wrong drinks then we never saw her again. Our server, male, took our dinner order and said he would fix the drinks, and then forgot until he brought our food. Our third visit was the final straw. We told our server (same one as 2nd visit) we wanted our check, proceeded to watch him take three orders and bring out drinks to all three tables, then SERVE THEIR FOOD!!! before I got up to tell him to bring the check --he would take off in the opposite direction of our table before we could catch his eye. The worst: we asked to speak to the manager about the poor service and she never came to the front to talk to us after at least five minutes of waiting...will never, ever go back! more

Great Food, decor, and atmosphere. 8/3/2006

My wife and I eat here often. Great food, decor, and atmosphere. THere is a nice little bar with lots of easily accesible chips to munch on while you are waiting for a table. Best seats in the house are in the covered terrace facing the main street. Pros: Food, atmosphere. Cons: Potentially long wait more

The good reviews are kidding, right? 7/16/2006

We waited close to an hour (started at '20 minute wait') for this 'upscale' mexican cuisine, and let's just say I wont be waiting again. The people were friendly, and it was a 'fun' spot (if you like average margaritas flowing, loud drunk people laughing their way through your meal....), but the food was very below par. The steak on the fajitas was way overdone and chewy, and my wife's enchiladas might as well have been from the frozen section at the supermarket. Pros: Fun and loud, if youre into that. Cons: Food! long unexpected wait. more

Fourth Time the Charm 7/2/2002

As a resident of Los Gatos for over a decade, I've dined at Pedros on a number of occasions. Each time I left disappointed in the service, the quality of the food or the quantity. I hadn't been since 1999. Times have changed! Had an enjoyable dinner last night. Tried the Tres Pedros enchilladas and was quite pleased. The enchilladas- cheese, beef and chicken were tasty and the correct portion size. In additon, our basket of chips were never half full. In addition, the bartender and service staff were great. more
