Not up to date on current practices 2/8/2012

This is not the place to take your child if you plan on doing anything ""alternative"" such as not circumcising or a delayed shot schedule. My son is uncircumcised and even after me repeatedly telling him not to, Dr. Smith stretched my sons foreskin. I had to remove his hands from my sons penis, but the damage was already done. My son cried every time he urinated for the next week. They are not up to date on current practices. Also, if your child has any problems, you will be brushed off about them. I have had to fight for every referral from them. My son has plagiocephaly, which required him to get a helmet, exzema, and a milk allergy. Every time I brought up the symptoms at appointments, I was told it was normal when it obviously wasn't. Being a new mom I thought I was overreacting, but when dr. Smith went against my explicitly stated wishes, I switched doctors. I am thankful I did because his issues may never have been resolved otherwise. more

Not the best place 5/9/2009

This place is not a good place to take your children. To say that Dr. Smith is good, is true, and one of the nurses Candance I think her name is, she is great. The receptionists are rude. It doesn't matter if you have an appointment or not, you will wait, for hours, they pick and choose who they want to go, the receptionist has lied to me about several things which I won't go into deatail. If you have any important issues they send you right to the ER which is not the way to handle issues. If you can go somewhere else you should. Cons: Not friendly more

Only go if you have NO OTHER OPTIONS .. 9/15/2008

I must agree with several of the other comments .. this is not the place if you want A+ customer service or compassionate people. There is one office person that is friendly every time I have gone in .. other than that ... its impossible to find a friendly face before seeing the Dr. The nurses are good with the children once you make it to the back several of them are Excellent and I at time wonder why they stay at this place but glad they have ...for they are part the main reason I continue to take my kids here... I would say that if you have other options explore them first because i'm sure you can find good nurses in a place where you can also feel comfortable takeing your children to in the first place. Pros: great nurse for asthma and great Dr. smith Cons: other staff is awful and so is the wait regardless of appointment or not more

Customer Service 8/18/2008

Yes, I wanted to say that Pedi Place is a great doctor's office. They do stay busy which does in fact set them behind, but their services are good. Since they deal with non insured, Medicaid, and Chip patients a lot it is going to take a little longer for a child to be seen. Just remember that you are going to be in the office for two to three hours at times even if you have an appointment. Basically they serve everyone as fast as they are able too. I want to let everyone know that I have had great experience up there even though at times I have gotten frustrated because of the length of time I have had to sit and wait. I would also like to point out a Dr. Smith that works in that office. He is awesome. My son was sick at one time and he caught an irrgularity that needed attention. I thought my son just had a bladder infection, but it was something more serious than that. To put a long story short, they may be rushed to see their patients, but they do find out what is wrong with your child. The help is there from everyone. I think a lot of parents mistake the staff for being rude because they are so rushed into trying to get the information they need in order to see the children. They try their best to get you in and out as fast as possible, but considering the circumstances it doesn't always happen that way. You get what you pay for, and since a lot of families have Medicaid here in the Lewisville area that is where we all go. Deal with it. It's all apart of the system. Be glad that there is a doctor's office out there that is willing to help out. I would recommend this office to my frineds but just for warn them that they will have a wait time. Keep doing what you do. Pros: Great doctor's Cons: Long waits but it is understandable more

Worst Dr Office ever! 6/7/2008

I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy! The staff is rude most of the time. I always try to be nice and friendly and they still get snippy and rude. In the 2 years my kids went to this dr office, I can count on 1 hand the times they were friendly. It is impossible to have anyone return a call. unless you like being on hold for at least 15-20 minutes, don't bother calling them. Also, they get very angry if you just show up to simply drop off paperwork (that no child is needed to be seen for and no deadline given for being turned in). The only kids allowed to sit in the ""well side"" are babies in for their well-check visit. Apparently your child is sick if he needs a physical. Also, they only plan physicals for once a month, so if you happen to call for a physical, the wait is usually 3 months. The doctors, when they finally get to you, are really nice. That's the ONLY good thing about this place. The doctors are good. Sadly, you usually only see them for about 5 mins total, but you get to ""visit"" the office for over 2 hours! Thank heavens my husband got real insurance and we now see a GREAT doctor!\r \r Pros: dr is nice Cons: Everything else more

no service customer service 9/24/2007

I have taken my children to Pedi Place for over 2 years, The staff is courtieous and have always been. However, everytime I try to get someone on the phone no one answers, It is very difficult to make appointments or have your phone calls returned. They wait is drulling and unecessary I believe they are understaffed and maybe should start referring patients out. Thankfully I don't have to use they're services alot but when I do it is very diffcult and frustrating Pros: Knowledgable staff Cons: Wait time and amount of time Dr. actually spends with you is insufficient more
