This shop may be a little out of the way for some in NYC, but if you can get out there, this is the place for all your bike maintenance needs. The owner, Jerry, is warm, knowledgeable and always fair. They'll keep your bike in top shape. They also have a great selection of mountain bikes and road bikes, although they seem to have a little more on the mountain side. more

Located in Queens just a few feet from the Douglaston stop on the LIRR, this small bike shop was an incredible find. I have been bicycling for almost 15 years, and have never had a tune-up as outstanding. Jerry (the mechanic and owner?) is incredibly friendly, personable, and performed incredible work on a bicycle that I thought was in decent shape. Smooth shifting galore. Super-tight brakes. It made my bike feel new again. Bicycle shops like this are rare, especially in NYC. Jerry summed it up well: ""I treat every bike like it was my own."" \r \r While I am lucky enough to live close to the shop, I will continue to use this shop for all my needs while I live anywhere near NYC. I'VE BEEN BIKING FOR SOME TIME NOW AND HAVE NOT HAD A BIKE SHOP AND A BIKE MECHANIC WHO I FELT REALLY GAVE TWO *&^% ABOUT MY BIKE AND IT'S PERFORMANCE. THIS SHOP IS ABOUT A HALF HOUR DRIVE OR MORE FOR ME AND IT IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE DRIVE. THIS SHOP IS OWNED AND OPERATED BY PASSIONATE MB'S. IT'S THE CLASSIC SHOP, JUST CAUSE YOU GO THERE DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING AND AFTER A FEW VISITS YOU'LL BE WELCOMED TO BRING YOUR LUNCH, HANGOUT, AND PARTAKE IN SOME SHOP TALK.
