Great Bookstore 9/4/2008

I have been shopping at Pea Picker for 30 years and it is great.\r Tons of books at half price. They got their start from Half Price Books in Dallas in 1975. Love it. more

Pea Picker Bookstore 6/19/2007

This is the biggest used bookstore in East Texas. Very large selection. I've been going to The Pea Picker Bookstores since 1975 and love it. I usually go. more

Great place if you like to read. Thousands and thousands of books and they pay cash for your books too. I've been shopping at The Pea Picker Bookstore since 1978 and love it. more

Buy and sell used books 11/14/2005

As an avid reader, I've gotten quite a collection of books over the years and took a recent trip to Pea Picker in the hopes of getting rid of some that I knew I'd never read again. To my surprise, the store isn't interested in purchasing hard-covered books but is only in the market for paperbacks. Of the books that I brought to sell, the man on duty at the time was only interested in the books that were larger than average. Subject didn't seem to have a lot to do with his selection, but the price I received was a pleasant surprise. more

A place to purchase, but not to trade 10/14/2005

Pea Picker Bookstore is really a place to purchase books, but not to trade. They will only give you 5% of the purchase price at most. The man who runs the store is very 'sour' in nature and speaks very little to the consumer. The lady who works there is very friendly and will try to assist you in finding a book if requested. She will hold a book for you if you request. The bookstore is very good about ordering books for high school educators if a list is provided quickly enough. PROS: Large selection of used books CONS: male 'sour' attitude more
