Editorial review from Citysearch 6/20/2014

THE WORST service of any jeweler I've ever contacted. My fiancé and I went in to view a collection by a designer that's not offered anywhere else in the state. We spoke with Meri who seemed as enthusiastic as we were at the time. We were looking for a specific design (which she didn't even know they had until we spotted it). THAT DAY we requested a wax for the ring so we could see what it looked like with a different shaped diamond. She stated she would contact them and let us know as soon as possible. Four weeks later, and after many emails, which felt like badgering, as Meri was very sporadic and unreliable in her responses (we pretty much had to beg her to take our money), we finally got the wax. And it looked like crap. There's no way that came from the designer. On top of that, they tried to sell us a diamond that could euphemistically be called overpriced. They must not have thought we'd do our research. A friend of mine warned me about them, since she had a similarly awful experience, and I wish I would have listened. Now we're just frustrated and out $150. Don't waste your time and money, go somewhere else. more

Wonderful customer service 9/29/2008

My fiance and I went to Payne Anthony for my engagement ring. I originally stopped in by myself and was very impressed with the one on one assistance I recieved from the owner, no less. I don't know much about rings or diamonds and other jewelry stores we had been to at that point acted like they didn't have the time to explain it all to us. Payne Anthony took the time to answer our questions and always treated us like we had their full attention. I was also looking for something simple and timeless, in white gold, that I wouldn't look at in 20 years and regret. Trendy was definitely out of the question. Other jewelry stores didn't seem to get it, though, and would show me gaudy pieces because they were ""prettier"" than what I had selected. Payne Anthony never pushed anything that I wasn't interested in. In fact, once I explained the kind of style I was interested in, the owner was so knowledgeable and understanding that he pointed me right to the ring that I absolutely fell in love with. Since they only carry a limited quantity of each style (so that no one else has your ring), I brought my fiance back the next weekend. The owner was there again, and remembered me, my ring, and everything we had discussed. I was so impressed! For a high-end jeweler, they never once treated us like we were below them. And considering that my fiance has tattoos, I can't say this about too many SLC businesses. My fiance and I are young, and don't have a lot of disposable income, but we wanted our rings to be high quality investments. I truely feel that we couldn't have found a better quality ring for the price, and combined with the impeccable service we recieved, I would highly recommend Payne Anthony! Pros: Great selection, one-on-one customer service, GREAT value, unique pieces, high-end quality Cons: Trolley Square remodel makes access a little difficult more

Incredible! 5/7/2004

Payne Anthony is a small, friendly business. Their sales staff is never pushy, always helpful, and skilled at helping you design a custom piece. I highly recommend them for custom work. They have some very talented jewelers who have created amazing pieces. They have a huge inventory that includes some very upscale, exclusive designers, and their prices are very good. Pros: great inventory, great customer servic, amazing custom work more

It's hard to find a reasonably priced, high-end jeweler. But this one's a genuine pearl.
