my feet hurt but I can afford socks 5/7/2006

Well, I suppose you really do get what you pay for.Over the years, I've purchased most of my shoes here. And my feet hurt. Payless used to have a cheaper selection, and so I did not mind the blisters etc. Now, their styles are really mimicking current trends, and the prices reflect this. Long story short: they take a poor product and paint it a pretty color and charge you a not so pretty price. While, it is still cheaper than the name brands, I'd rather pay a few bucks more for a comfy pair of shoes. more

Cheap for a reason 3/24/2006

I have been drawn into this store for the prices, of course. There is ALWAYS a sale on top of that - buy one get one half off usually. There's no point in even calling it a "sale" anymore because it's just always like that. Anyway, they do have some cute shoes - like, surprisingly, cute enough to actually wear in public. Sometimes. But at least one of the following things will happen: they will hurt your feet and turn them into gigantic blisters, fall apart, or fail to function as a reasonable shoe (ie heels that provide NO traction and make you fall in the middle of a nice restaurant so everyone thinks you're drunk when you're really not...yet). So if you don't care about quality and remaining on your feet, go ahead and shop here. If on the other hand these things slightly matter, it's worth it to spend a little more somewhere else. more
