Payless Car Rental

Overcharged on fuel even after agreeing to the prepaid (apparently it was my negligence to not see it was not added to the contract just a verbal YES on part) they also added road side insurance that I did not ask for..... all I can say is ""buyer beware"": READ your contract carefully to ensure you get what you ask for and then double check your final invoice!!\r \r Finally, extremely poor customer service. more

I was completely blown away by how rude and unproffesional the staff at Payless car rental in Oakland was. I had problems with my car, found out from a mechanic that the car was unsafe to drive, and was offered no assistance from the staff there. They told me to just drive the car back anyway. I didn't because the mechanic told me the cars tires were bald and unsafe for driving, and the manager at Payless offered me no recourse. I ended up stranded for a day on my vacation. I got the impression from the manager there that he could not care less, and was even hung up on twice by the staff. Overall, I wouldn't recommend renting from Payless car rental in Oakland to anyone. Pros: none, really Cons: poor car conditions., Rude staff., inconvenient location more
