I've had bad experiences with groomers....groomers whom my friends take their dogs to religiously and swear by. My biggest complaint with most is that they insist on ignoring my requests....I do not like my dog's hair cut except in areas where it helps keep him clean. Twice I've had him leave the groomers looking suspiciously like Ringo Starr in the late 60s. Kim at Pawfessional listened carefully to my requests, and called twice during his appointments with suggestions (such as shaving his belly, which was very helpful) to make absolutely sure it was okayed before just grabbing the clippers. She also treats my dog with affection, does a painstakingly thorough job on his coat, is friendly and welcoming, and charges very reasonable rates. I've been in grooming salons that are much more posh, but I personally care more about the result than the ambience. Unfortunately I happen to live about 300 miles away, so I make sure to schedule appointments when I'm visiting my parents in the area. For me, the peace of mind is worth the trip and the wait.
Pros: Resonsible, Knowledgeable and Attentive Service
Cons: The location is a bit hard to find
