Great staff, Great dancers, Great space, The whole package! 4/28/2007

Paula Meola Dance is by far the best out there. I've been here for a quite a few years and I have never had a complaint. There is constantly so much going on at PMD. Nutcrackers, Rectials, Competition, and Disney Trips. The teachers are very talented, friendly and willing to do whatever they can to help you learn. You can tell they truly have a passion for teaching. The owner is great. She's willing to do anything for her students and can be a ton of fun, but also maintains a strong, disciplined outlook as well. She is always giving to her students, whether it be paying for a huge meal for 30 dancers after a Nutcracker rehearsal or treating the whole competition team to icecream. Its true, the studio prices aren't cheap, but PMD has the BEST of the BEST. and the BEST don't come cheap. PMD performances are known to dazzle. Whether its Nutcracker or recital, the show is guaranteed to wow the audience. Every performance is well worth the money! PMD has TONS of studio space and a friendly, safe atmosphere. Its the way to go! Pros: Studio space, amazing teachers, friendly dancers, great owner, safe atmosphere Cons: nothing. its a terrific place. more

Paula Meola Dance is GREAT!!! 4/28/2007

I love paula meola dance and have been dancing there since i was 2 1/2 wen it was PAT. o ya and FYI catiem.... im in the 7th grade and no what a flap heel heel is! and i was doin maxi fords across the floor since i was in level 3, maybe you just aren't in a high enough level to learn them!!!! Everyone there is nice to everone else. The only reason there are clicks (which really aren't clicks) is because you see mostly the people in your level, so you will obviously get to know them better. Thats why at school you hang out with the people in your grade instead of other kids because you are with them all the time!!!!!!! Well anyways Paula is so nice to everyone at the studio, and picks different roles for everyone each year. She is very fair! I love the studio, and recommend it to everyone. She wants us to be the best we can possibly be. Our competition team is great. We have meetings when EVERYONE meets and can talk about dance, school, or anything else. I LOVE PMD!!!! dont listen to the other MEAN NASTY CRUEL comments! cause it is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: EVERYONE IS SO NICE TO EACHOTHER!!!!!!!! more

Great Studio 4/28/2007

I am a dancer at PMD and have been there for over 10 years, including when it was PAT. When the studio was owned by Lisa the studio was wonderful and since then the studio has only improved. Paula is always working to find and hire new teachers to add to her already wonderful staff. All of the students work very hard and the advanced students take on average 6 hours of ballet a week so it is difficult to believe that we have ""terrible technique."" Everyone at our studio is like a family and warm and welcoming to new people. Paula is especially kind. She cares about all of her students and always wants the best for them. All of the other teachers and staff are also very friendly. Our studio has only been competing for 3 years, but we have done extremely well. We are not ""big headed"", just confident and proud, and we have every right to be. We have worked hard and it shows in our performances and in all of the awards we have EARNED. The Nutcracker is a great experience especially for the younger children. Paula puts her heart and soul into the production every year and it is a wonderful thing to be a part of. Every performance at PMD is completely optional. However, when you decide to participate, you have to understand that it does take a committment, but that is acceptable. Recently, PMD dancers had the opportuinity to perform in Walt Disney World for the third time. It was definately an unforgettable experience for everyone and we had an amazing time. As for Paula, she truly wants what is best for her students. PMD is a great group of people that can't be explained without being there yourself. All of these rude comments about PMD are rediculous. You people are basing your accusations on rumors. ONE person was asked to leave the studio because of illegeal and distruptive behaviors, which would not have been acceptable anywhere especially after multiple offences. Also, Paula's prices are not higher than anywhere else. And please learn how to spell clique. Pros: teachers, hard working students, location, performance opportunity, family oriented, ""one for all and all for one"" atmosphere more

Beautiful performaces, very unfriendly, EXTREMELY CLICKY! 4/28/2007

This is certainly not the studio you want to be a part of. Unless you know people there, like the owner, and therefore you join the clicky-ness. My daughter was part of another studio in Central Mass, and wanted a change. We joined PMD, and soon realized it was a mistake. The people there were very unfriendly, however the group of people who were already clicked together were nice to eachother. more

Paula Meola Dance - Professional and Fun! 4/28/2007

If your child is SERIOUS about dancing, this studio is excellent! My daughter has been dancing since she was 2 1/2 and has attended 3 other area studios before we found Paula Meola Dance and Performing Arts, Inc. The instructors are not only highly trained professionals but they also put your child's safety first. Pros: Parking, Professional Staff more

""The comment that said dancers have gotten kicked out is complete hooplah.""-- YOUR WRONG! 4/28/2007

All of these ncie comments written about Paula Meola Dance clearly are by people who are a part of the clicks. Yes Paula does a lot for the dancers, but it's very obvious that she is faking the kindness so the students stay with her studio. Pros: I have nothing good to say about PMD Cons: Basically everything more

Too crowded, not very friendly 1/23/2007

Paula Meola has made quite a name for herself. However, its who you know at this dance studio. Nutcracker parts are always the same & the instructor can be quite cruel (I've heard it from a number of people). Also, tap technique seems to be lacking, I'm a dancer myself & the seventh graders don't even know what a flap heel heel is or a maxi forward turn. I think some studios concentrate too much on image and competitions rather than teaching proper technique. Pros: Nice big studio Cons: big-heads more
