We absolutely LOVE the folks at Patterson Avenue Childcare. Not sure what the mom was saying about lack of communication and teachers coming and going not relaying information - but there is like NO turnover rate on the actual teachers there. There are loving teenagers who help afterschool with the children. I've had both my girls go there and both times PACC and Miss Jeanna and her crew have been there for us for anything! They were prayers answered in needing an affordable Christian daycare. They have a family like atmosphere and Miss Jeanna even came to the hospital when I had my 2nd child! My now 8 year old is still friends with her ""PACC friends - preschool friends"" she calls them her BFF's. My now 4 year old had to start there on a whim because my mom was watching her and got very ill and I needed childcare and preschool all rolled into one fast and Miss Jeanna warmly welcomed her - immediately. My daughter is picking up on things so fast and loves the school. I can drop in anytime I want and I can call anytime I want. It's a great Christian family like daycare - and trust me - with my first child we went through 3 traditional daycares: Primrose, LaPetite, Victory Tabernacle, before finding PACC and I meant it when I said they are truly a blessing to us! more

Being a mother of three is often hectic. I am so relieved to find a child care center where my two youngest are not babysat but are actually in a christian learning environment. It's a relief! I have moved into the area and happened upon this center that's near Willow Lawn where I'm employed. I have dropped in unannounced and still find the best of care. My children are not only learning to write, sound out words, having art and music, but they read them Bible stories and teach them about the love of Jesus. I highly suggest anyone who needs loving care for their child to check out Patterson Avenue Child Care, they are affordable, caring, and great at what they do. THANK YOU more

***UPDATE*** I am sooo excited!! I just got a call today regarding a testing that my son took to get into private Christian school--they told me he is accepted into their Kindergarten program!! I know this is due to the caring and dedicated staff at PACC!! He has really grown over the last few years both personally as well as academically. The school program at PACC is top notch! They teach my son all sorts of things to prepare for Kindergarten, including Spanish! He is writing, even adding, subtracting and starting to read!! (he is still only 4!!) The staff at the private school were truly amazed at all the different things he knew and was able to catch onto. Thank you PACC for all your dedication and caring for my son as well as all the children at PACC!! My son always has a blast and funny stories to tell me when he gets home!! \r \r We LOVE PACC!!! My son is 3 now--he has been attending for over a year or more and to see his transformation and growth is truly amazing! He is very well-adjusted and loves the teachers and children there! So glad to have him at PACC! more

Do NOT take your child to this daycare. It seemed to be great at the beginning. But now that he's been there for numerous months, the true colors are beginning to show. There are multiple 'teachers' who rotate shifts and do not relay ANY important information to eachother concerning the kids, to the point that when I pick my child up and ask how the day was, nobody know's anything except 'I wasn't here'. Unacceptable. On numerous occasions the staff are on cell phones not even paying attention to the children. The director, Ms. Jeanna, is extremely rude and unprofessional. She even raised her voice and began to yell at me on one occasion. I had to repeatedly tell her to not yell at me, especially in front of my child. There's always an excuse for a teacher's behavior, whether it's 'Well she's going through some personal issues' or 'Her mother is very sick' etc. As in my profession, and any place of employment I have worked, this is NOT acceptable. Yes, we all go through personal issues, but they are NOT to be brough to work. Especially when my child is lacked attention because of it. Henrico County Social Services has been notified and I'm in the process of reaching out to a higher power above her. more

Love this school! Truly amazes me what my daughter has learned while attending this school. She has already learned basic arithmetic, geometry, reading. She loves learning. If she doesn't already know the word she can make out what it is. I know when she gets to Kindergarten she is going to know more than her classmates. \r \r The school is very secure and very accommodating to any requests I have made. When my daughter first went in there she feeding problems and they have helped us work past them. She loves her school and looks forward to going. \r \r Many thanks to the staff!! more

My grandaughter is age 3 and have been attending this daycare/pre-school since June 2012 we love every bit of it. My son was here when he was a kid and is now age 21.\r \r PACC is a great place for children. Ms. Jeanna and the daycare staff are pleasant and are all a blessing I'm sure not only to my child but to all the other attendees as well.\r \r I am thankful to have my grandaughter here because she has learned her colors, numbers, shapes, alphabets, and the many other activities they teach. \r \r Hooray for PACC!\r more

Best daycare ever! Everyone was so great with both of my children. My daughters learned a lot there and they really loved all their teachers. We had a wonderful experience with PACC and would recommend this daycare to anyone! The Director is the great! more

Friendly & Affordable, One of the best child care centers 10/3/2011

I have my youngeest son currently enrolled at Patterson Avenue Child Care. All three of his oldest siblings also attended this facility. All of my children have excelled and I contribute this to the excellent learning curriculum that Patterson Avenue Child Care offers. My youngest son who will turn four at the end of December, is not only able to write and recognize his letters, numbers, and colors, but he is also recognizing words. He absolutely loves coming and seeing his friends and his teachers, and on the weekends he gets upset because he doesn't understand school is closed. It's a great facility where learning is fun and is intergral part of the daily routine! The playground is just fantastic, it has fundamental toys that help motor skills. I have nothing negative to say about the director, Ms Jeanna (who we all love and adore), the staff, and the facility. I would highly recommend this child care center for any child between the age of 2 and 5 years. more

Highly recommend! 9/27/2011

I have my youngest daughter at Patterson Avenue Child Care and she is extremely happy and social. I love the teacher to child ratio, my daughter gets plenty of love and care. The different projects that they complete are very cute and creative. I have always had my children in private and I am completely happy with this facility, the staff, and the location. Jeanna is wonderful and I am greeted everyday with smiles, hello's, and genuine kindness. I would recommend PACC to any mother/father that wants their child to be well taken care of, treated fairly and kindly, and I cant think of anything I would change. Thanks PACC - I am a happy mommy! more

Big No No! 9/14/2011

This program is not what they say they are. They claim to be Christian but they are extremely rude. The director was very unprofessional, sarcastic and snappy on the phone as well as in person. Would not recommend this day care! I do not want my child treated in this mannor, nor be taught that this is the way to act. Very dissapointing. more

Wonderful Child Care and Preschool 6/13/2011

Our son attended PACC for several years and is now a Kindergartener at a local elementary school. He has recently been accepted into the gifted program. I attribute his success 100% to PACC. His K teacher even told us ""I don't know where he went to preschool but they did something very right"". The staff are friendly, professional, and just wonderful. I still stay in touch and he will actually be spending his summer there this year. I would recommend this over any preschool in the city. Not only did I love the school he loved it too. \r more

What a wonderful place for children!! 3/10/2011

I am a nursing student that was assigned to Patterson Avenue Child Care as part of my studies in Child development, I have nothing but good to say about them. Being a parent myself of a 8 year old son, I wish I had known about them when my child was in Child Care.\r The interaction between the staff and the children is great. The programs they have for the children far exceeded my expectations. The Child care center that I took my son too did not compare to Patterson Avenue Child Care. \r They have an instructor that gives them lesson, writing, reading, adding, I was totally impressed. The lunches they serve were all nutrionally balanced, the children were well mannered and well behaved. During play time in the play area, the staff interacted with the children, they had story time, puzzles, painting, drawing, and on rainy days they have a movie!!\r The staff is very dedicated and have much love for the children, its great to see that.\r I wish I had known about Patterson Avenue Childcare when my son was going, he most definately would have attended!!\r Kudo's to you all there, I was very impressed and think you all do a wonderful job. Thank you for having me there!!\r Debra more

SIMPLY THE BEST! 9/22/2010

September 22,2010\r I'm so appreciative to the Patterson Avenue Child Care givers for all they've done for my little girl. I was looking for a place where children are ‘cared’ for, a nurturing environment that not only allows them to be children, but one that also teaches and supports their developmental skills. I’m so glad that I found this and much more in Patterson Avenue Child Care. I was amazed at how quickly she transitioned into the new program and it was evident that it's because the teachers know what they're doing. \r \r I love..love..love the well-rounded program because the kids get to be kids when they play, and then transition to a learning environment several times in the course of the day. My little girl is always very proud of her art-work, math, and sight-words just as much as she loves the music class.\r \r I’m truly amazed that the teachers, with the guidance of their extremely knowledgable and caring director,Jeanna, do so much with the kids in a small setting. Before coming to Patterson, she attended a much bigger day-care, but got very little out of it. \r \r This place is indeed a home for our kids away from home. Every day I’m reminded that I should have brought her here long before now, but I’m glad she got here.\r \r Unlike other ""big"" day-cares where nobody truly cares about the kids except the money, you guys have shown that your priority is A CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT!\r \r Thank you so much!\r \r more

Loving Care at Patterson 5/12/2010

I have a hard headed son that needed extra TLC. He participated half-day at Patterson for a series of months to help him make his transition to a new state. My son brought with him certain challenges, and the director and staff worked with me to help him. They listened and supported me and tried a number of approaches to help my son work out his behavior. They were incredibly patient and gentle. We eventually figured out that he needed a highly structured, Montessori-like setting, and they referred me a place that could provide that. At no time did I ever feel that this was a rejection. More likely, I was able to view my son's change to a new school as a point of growth.\r \r I recently visited just to let them know how my son, who is going to pre-school with his sibling, is now doing. Not only did they remember us, but they were still interested in our well-being. The classrooms were busy with children learning and receiving instruction. The play-yard brimmed with happy sounds of play. The staff and children were cheerful and content. The business was absolutely clean and orderly. \r \r This environment is best for children who thrive in a multi-age atmosphere and need a casual approach to their day. All children, however, will enjoy the affection of conscientious teachers who communicate openly and regularly regarding the progress of your children. Your child will come home with artwork and academic work. My son always talked about what he learned there and the friends he made. \r \r I am so thankful for the love and support from the staff at Patterson. Pros: Large number of teachers per student and lots of love more

Quality Care at Reasonable Rate 4/24/2010

I have had a very good experience with my child at Patterson Child Care. I am expecting and sincerely hope that their new addition will be completed so my infant son will be able to go to school with his big sister. Very caring, loving staff. Have always been there and willing to help us for special situations. I like the open door policy and the recognition you receive as you enter each day. I am overly please and highly recommend. Pros: Loving, caring atmosphere Cons: Small more

BEST DAYCARE IN RICHMOND, VA 9/24/2009

I know God led me to this daycare because I was desparate for a warm, nuturing, loving Christian based daycare with preschool and my daughter didn't fit in well at the commercial large daycares such as La Petite, Primrose and even Victory Tabernacle. We needed something more family oriented. She just turned 4 and has been there for over a year now and can count to 30 easily and knows her letters and wants to even try to read too! She is so happy there, the staff and director are awesome, they treat the children like they are their own family - with lots of love, patience, understanding. There hasn't been any turnover rate on teachers either, same ones for over a year now! They're there to help with anything - even last minute babysitting emergencies! Great price too which was a huge concern for us as well! AND my daughter has asthma and they are great working with her treatments as needed! They have become a part of our extended family. Pros: Family oriented, no turnover rate on teachers, lots of love Cons: no field trips, but they have things come to them sometimes more

Pleasantly Surprised 6/1/2009

My daughter has been attending PACC for almost a year. She has absolutely thrived. She's 2 1/2 -- knows her ABCs, her numbers, is constantly improving her motor skills, and her vocabulary amazes me every day. PACC works with the children on a daily basis on a varying curriculum that meets my daughter's ever growing curiosity. In addition, there's time for music, stories, and crafts. Also, the children are mixed in age -- which allows for the younger ones to learn by observation of the older ones. My family needed a daycare with flexibility and PACC caters to that need -- with a variety of attendance plans available -- from 1-2 days a week to full week. My one hesitation when we first started was the space -- at 1st look it can be unsettling. HOWEVER, the staff have use the space available in clever ways to ensure the children have a great place to learn, play, and engage with each other. Pros: Great staff, Engaged Activities, Flexible Schedules Cons: Small more

Outstanding quality childcare 6/20/2008

Our daughter attends this Day Care and we are so pleased with her progress. She comes home every day with her cute little papers and is so proud she has learned her a-b-c's, she is spelling simple words and has learned so much. The math and music programs have been my daughter's favorites. She is very proud of the things she learns. My husband and I, as proud parents, appreciate the time, efforts and patience the staff takes with these children. They do an amazing job and each one of them has award winning attitudes. The Director, Ms. Jeanna, has been wonderful to us. It is so refreshing to find a place like this in the Richmond area! These dedicated teachers and instructors enjoy what they do and it shows. The loving positive influence they shower and reflect on these children absolutely shows and we couldn't be happier with Patterson Avenue Child Care. Pros: The staff is wonderful---attentive, intelligent, and caring! Cons: I really can't name one thing!!! more

PACCP - one of the best childcare programs in Richmond 7/10/2007

My son attended PACCP from 2 years to 6 years old, he left the Pre K program knowing how to read above Kindergarten level, count by 5's and 10' s and to 10 in Spanish, the basics of addition and subtraction. I was really impressed when he came home singing a song about the various parts of his brain. His class grew flowers from seeds, raised butterflies from chrysalis, and during the holidays presented a choral performance to the parents along side the elementary children. I greatly appreciated the fact that he was given so many unique learning opportunities above and beyond the daily care and play that is expected. He made many wonderful friends and best of all he was in a very nurturing and loving environment. I have seen the director take special interest in each individual child and work along side the lead teachers to create a stimulating and safe environment for young learners. I have always found the staff, assistants as well as lead teachers, to provide exceptional quality care to all students. Once my youngest child was old enough to attend preschool, I immeadiately enrolled her in hopes that she may reep the benefits of the same wonderful experiences. Thanks to the kind and nurturing actions of the staff, she has made an easy adjustment and absolutely loves coming to PACCP. Her favorite part of the day is playing with others on the outside playgound and I love the fact that she gets so much physical outdoor activity. The center has an extremely well rounded program from arts and music to reading and science - all of the lessons and activities are very age apropriate. I have many times and will continue to recommended PACCP to friends and strangers. The PACCP program is one of the best in Richmond. Pros: Great people and fun atmosphere for kids. Cons: Smaller building with less modern facilites more
