Rude, belligerent, dishonest people 3/29/2012

It's really too bad that this service makes you give a single star. On a road trip through Worcester, we had an unfortunate accident and rolled our vehicle. These people handled the tow, as we were in the hospital thanking God that we were still alive. Once we finally secured a rental, we returned to clean out our belongings and pay them their tow and storage charge. They claimed that they now owned the vehicle, and offered no other service other than to tell us that we were taking too long to reclaim our possessions. Quite shaken, we finally made it to our destination, and then tried to make arrangements over the phone with John to salvage any value we could out of my vehicle. He sounded surprised that I was even asking about it, and belligerently said that he assumed that I relinquished the vehicle to them. I told him that I was still the rightful owner, and I still owned the title. He then said, I could come pick it up if I wanted, but gave me some fuzzy math about how much I owed him based on the three extra days it was there. He then pretty much hinted that if i sent the title to Pat's, so that it was there with the vehicle when the secondary company came to claim the vehicle, that he would intentionally lose the title. We agreed on a price to settle the storage once they came to claim, and I arranged to send the title to the secondary company. When the secondary tow company comes to claim the vehicle, John claims they can't come into the lot to load the vehicle, and charges another fee to tow my vehicle out of the lot, unmentioned the day before. I'm sure it's just another day in the life of grand ol' Pat's. I'd advise you to stay away if you can. more

VERY HELPFUL 3/8/2012

I know of pat's beacuse i live in the Worcester area and am constantly on Shrewsbury Street. The other day my car broke down for the first time on the pike. I immediately called 911 as I did not know what else to do in a situation like that - my car was smoking up and I was scared in that sort of situation. The police said they would send over a tow trucking company so I stayed put. After waiting for quite some time, Pat's came to my mind. I looked up the number and called them. They immediately asked me where I was and if I had called the state troopers for help. When I told them I was told that a tow truck company was supposed to be on the way, they proceeded to call the right company that they knew would be in charge and make sure it was nearby. I received a phone call back from Pats 2 minutes later where the guy on the other line told me the tow truck should be there very shortly. Sure enough, the towing company showed up minutes after my phone call with Pats. Even though Pats was not the one towing my car, they still made a 100% effort to make sure I was taken care of and not left behind. This is definitely a company I recommend. Even when they received no business from me at the time of my breakdown, they still went above and beyond to make sure I was okay! more

Pays their workers under the table ! 2/7/2011

Pat's has been paying their employees under the table one of the employess hapens to be my daughters father. He owes me over $11,000 in back child support ! This company pays him in cash so child support can't attatch his wages and he doesn't file for taxes and girls let him stay at their place so the state can't find him. The State also took his licence and Pat's still lets him work there. This is a very dishonest company and needs to go under !!!! Please contact the Better Busness Bureau and the Irs file tax form 3949a for tax fraud ! If this company has been dishonest with money exchanges etc call the Better Buisness Bureau I have called and spoke to owner he was very rude to me. He told me that my daughters father doesn't work there but then he called me a hour later ! Several people have seen him work there and know they pay him and other workers cash under the table ! Please don't do buisness with this company ! more

5 hours...never even showed up 2/3/2011

So the starter went in my car while at the doctor's office and I called them to pick my car up...after talking to them more than enough times and waiting OVER 5 hours, they still never showed. The guy on the phone was rude, and during the last call, pretty much told me that he didn't care how long I waited for, he'll be there eventually. I was able to find another towing company and they were there within 40 minutes after I called. As far as I'm concerned, Pat's can go ""bad word"" themselves! more

THIEVES 10/8/2010

Rude jerks refused to tow my car where I wanted it after an accident and stole item out of my car. Do not use this company. If they show up refuse to let them take the vehicle. The police cannot force you to use them. more

Rude, Nasty People with no Morality!!! 10/14/2009

We are a used car dealer in MA, about an hour away from worcester. we had a vehicle stolen from our lot wich ended up in Pat's Towing. I called to pay for the towing and storage with a credit card and offer that I will give the title to them because the vehicle was strip to the bone, and we are not interested in picking it up. They said they would only take cash. Which its imposible since we are an hour and a half away from them. Very respectfully I told them how far we are and that I would pay for all the fees and send them the title of the vehicle. I also said that I would pay for the tow to a junk yard if they dont want the vehicle. He was rude and said that if i dont pay in cash, that he will take us to court for abbonded of vehicle. We are not going to drive up there for a piece of junk. We tried to pay them all fees and give them titleship of the vehicle. But they refuse. I dont even know how are they still running in business. Rude and nasty people. Pros: nothing Cons: rip off more

Never ever use it 12/19/2008

I would never recommend this trash. My car was towed last night in front of my apartment. They said the street was subjective to a parking ban; however there was no sign on the street. I did not argue with them about this because it was freaking cold outside. I though ""OK, I disobey the rule, I pay the fine"". They asked for $95 cash to release my car. I did not have cash so I asked them if I could pay check. They were very rude and said 'No, if you don't have cash then you will pay $140 tomorrow'. Isn't it robbery!!! Pros: No Cons: impolite, robber more

Terrible Company 12/16/2007

The same thing happened to us. We were parked on the road during a snow storm & no signs posted on parking bans. We saw the company by our car and quickly ran out of our house to move the vehicle. The driver said ""$90"" to get it off the lift! When we called later the ""manager"" told us the owners weren't available then would not listen and hung up, just as the other post says. This happened a week before Christmas. Cons: expensive, rude more

rudeness 7/11/2003

Tow? I don't think so! Recently we had an experience where this company towed our car in an area that was not clearly marked as being a private lot. This company, knowing that the car owner was approaching the car, quickly atttached the car to the tow truck and said ""75 dollars!"". When we called to question this behavior, they were rude and hung up on us. Certainly not a place I would ever call if I was in need of a tow. Pros: none that we know of Cons: rude, careless more
