OMG BAD 7/20/2011

Their philosphy for treatment is to punish and to disapline and medicate, medicate, medicate. Like in the nursing homes where the old people sit around and just stare like zombies. That way they dont cause any trouble. THERE IS NOT A MD DOCTOR AT FACILITY AND COME ONCE A WEEK AND ROTATE OUR BETWEEN ALL THE OTHER PATIENTS TO SEE HIM ONCE A MONTH. Some nurse lady makes the call on what medication she want you to be on but everyone better be on medication. This is a behavior modification management rehab . Many of the patients are nice folks but are treated like we were mentally retarded instead of having an injury. Treated to feel less then a person kind of like stripping you down to non entity like they do in prison. And an exercise is to write on a piece of paper over over again "I AM BRAIN INJURED" . The other word I heard on a daily basis is risk for elopement. What in the heck does that mean I am an adult and not a prisoner in boot camp learning a lesson. Most of the people who work with the patients in the house are very young and have too much responsiblitiy . Constantly bedgering someone for misbehaving. We have a brain injury and are not juveniles delinquents. more

Brain injury rehabilitation 7/7/2010

Has wonderful well educated and trained staff. Very efficient in dealing with matters that arise with unpredictable brain injury patients. Patients are watched very closely to insure their safety but at the same time given freedom to do what they are capable on their own. My son has shown great improvement in a short time. Staff recognizes and address patients need without prompting, by knowing each patient as indiviuals. Regular outings and activities for patients. Strive to do things that patients enjoy. Nurse on site at all times and Dr. can be reached at all times. All patients are past need of hospital setting by the time of entering program. My son has done wonderful and loved it and benefited greatly. I would recommend this to anyone who has had the nightmare of a brain injury. The staff is wonderful and do anything in the world to help your loved one move forward. Pros: wonderful, knowledgable, well trained staff Cons: None more
