Best

Love the food here. Probably one of the best Indian place in San Diego. Love their naans. Keep it up!

DON'T GO..THEY WILL INSULT YOU... The owner is so senseless. I'd been the customer of this restaurant since last 10 months living close by. I gave ride to one of their employee t...

Wonderful 10/7/2011

I'll be going here much, much more often. It's just really good food. I stopped in to order take out and they were just opening up to prepare for dinner. There was no one else in the place, but it looks quite charming, and I would def come here w/my gal hoping that we could have the place to ourselves. I ordered the shrimp tiki masala and a mango lassi. Dude, I almost didn't even get to enjoy any of my food. I made the classic mistake of letting my gal try it before I did. Yeah, she beasted it. I'm quite sure she would've finished the whole thing if I didn't snatch it away. You've made friends tonight Passage to India. Friends with hungry eyes and shallow pockets. We'll be back alright, but mainly for the lunch buffet. more

Wow 10/4/2011

Easily the best service I've ever had in San Diego. Everything was quick, my water glass was never empty and the food was extremely good. Portions were excellent, spices were excellent -- I didn't feel let down in any aspect of my experience. I was very happy to pay the bill and leave a generous tip. I will definitely be back! more

Great experience 10/4/2011

Sooooo good!! My friend lives around the corner of this place, so we stumbled in here completely starving after a long day of shopping. We had samosas, garlic naan, lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. It was all really great. And the staff was extremely nice as well. It seems to be a pretty popular place too... we were there around 6 on a Saturday and it was already really filling up. more

Great food 10/3/2011

i love this place. they are great for eating in and for take out. the servers are helpful and very nice. they make sure your table is clear and your water is filled. we've had poori, naan, samosas, mango lassis and those were all really good. for main courses i usually get my favorite, chicken tikka. it's plain, but some places end up overcooking it so it's too dry, but passage to india got it perfect! the others i've dined with have ordered a variety of things and i've never heard one complaint. more

awesome place 10/3/2011

I love this place! Been ordering and going here for dinner for almost 4 years. Never been disappointed. Food is delicious , service is great, and prices are right. Just wish it was a bit closer to where I live! more

Fantastic 10/1/2011

This place is incredible!! The food is.. like woa. We started with the vegetable pakoras. They were prepared just right. We had the rogan josh and the chicken tikka masala. The sauces were amazing, absolute perfection. The lamb was so tender and beautifully prepared, it could have been a shank. The chicken biryani was unique. We finished with my favorite: rasmalai! Oh my goodness! perfection. My mouth is upset it is not munching on this as I type! A must visit! more

THE BEST 10/1/2011

This place is my go-to spot when I have family in town. It really is my favorite spot for a delicious meal, with excellent service in a beautiful dining room. They have a great wine list. I have tried an array of dishes over the past 2 years and cannot recall ever being disappointed. The only thing I haven't had is dessert- the menu is enticing but I am always too stuffed from the amazing apps and entrees. Oh- and the light, puffy, delightful naan! more

San Diego's best indian food 9/30/2011

Fantastic food every time. I've been coming here regularly for about 5 years now, and everyone that I've brought here has been impressed and extremely pleased with the meal. I've been to other Indian restaurants and this is still my favorite. The food is fresh, tasty, and spiced well, and the waiters are professional and attentive. I highly recommend trying Passage to India; you won't be disappointed! more

Best Indian 9/30/2011

Amazing meal! Really, everything was top-notch. I recommend the lamb biryani especially. The food took a while to come out, but I take that as a good sign--you can tell that it's freshly prepared and that they don't cut corners. It's a quiet little place, too, so you can actually have a conversation. more

Marvelous 9/29/2011

The food was fabulous... Most impressive, the owner was there. Greeting customers, and asking if we were pleased with the meal. We took a take out menu as we are in the neighborhood. What a great find. I have been to Mumbai, Delhi, Banglaore, And Chennai.... The food here was as good, if not better than anything I have had in India. more

Great food 9/28/2011

Best meal I've had in San Diego so far. Been to Passage to India three times and every dish I've ordered has been great. Try the lamb tika masala, the lamb kebab, the biryani and of course, the garlic bread. Great food at a great price with nice and warm service. more

Fabulous 9/28/2011

I work in the area and this was my first time coming here for lunch. It was nice and quiet with a good lunch special. The chicken tikka masala was delicious. Overall, a great spot that I will be coming back to. more

outstanding 9/28/2011

This isn't just the best Indian take-out place I know. This is the best take-out place I know. My girlfriend and I moved to this area recently and picked this place at random for quick eats one night. We keep reordering for all the other reasons people have listed here and then some: -Excellent, tasty food - we have liked EVERYTHING we've tried, and this includes all the large groups of friends we've ordered take-out with -Lots of vegetarian options -Very reasonable prices -Thoughtful, polite staff over the phone and in person Never been in person to the restaurant, but we'll have to. This place is a gem. more

Awesome 9/27/2011

I can't eat spicy, and while you can certainly ask for them not to make it spicy, there is still plenty to choose from that is delicious and already not spicy, and vice versa. It's reasonably priced, I LOVE the poori (puffy bread). And the Tandoori mixed grill, oh man! I want to go there now! I felt the staff was always very kind, and the place was decorated so beautifully. It's almost hypnotizing. more

yummmmyyy 9/27/2011

Delicious food, kind staff and great clean decor, what else can you ask for. Came in today for the buffet lunch, left with a full stomach and a smile. Talked to the manager was really nice and sincere. Really authentic food. Kind and quick staff. Be back soon. more

Great Experience 9/26/2011

Excellent service, superb food, and a great atmosphere to boot. I had the Chicken Masala (Great!) and my friend had the Malai Kofta (Delicious!). We also shared an order of Garlic Nan, which was enjoyed quite a lot too. (As usual, there's just not enough of it, because it's so good). We were surprised that the place was so reasonably priced too. We were able to enjoy a full meal (with sides and drinks) and we didn't break the bank doing it. Definitely going again. more

Wow 9/26/2011

By far my favorite Indian restaurant! I haven't been disappointed by any of their food. My favorite foods there are the Palak Paneer, Punjabi Curry and Mali Kofta. They also have excellent Nan in many different flavors. I would, and have, recommended this place to people! more

Best Indian place in san diego 9/24/2011

The best Indian food I've had in the city so far. Everything was very flavorful and the service was great. I had the Chicken Vindaloo and it tasted great, but could have been a little hotter. We also got an order of the Pakora and they were good and the chutneys that came with it were fresh and tasty. After we were done with the Pakoras and my friend commented how much she enjoyed the Tamarind Chutney, the waiter brought us some more of both chutneys to enjoy with our Naan. My friend got the Tandori Shrimp and said it was very good. Besides the food being very good, the prices are very good. It's great that I've finally found a good Indian place in the city and we'll definitely be back. more
