Tasty Food 3/27/2011

I have been to Pasand Richardson several times in last two years... I never get dissapointed with food as there are large number of varieties in Buffet... Chicken Biryani and Chicken 65 are my fav in Buffet. And I am satisfied many times with Prowns fry, Fish and Mutton fry's in dinner. Especially from last two months, there is rapid improvement in new variety of dishes and even better in taste compare to earlier.... more

Good authentic indian food - nice ambience 3/5/2010

The ambience and professionalism of this restaurant is unsurpassed. The waiter suggested nice options based on our preferences. The quality of food is upscale compared to indian restaurants in the vicinity and i would definitely recommend this one for anyone who's tastebuds are itchy for good indian food. Pros: Great tasting authentic food Cons: Appetizers are pricey but i wont complain more

cold tasteless and bad smelling food 5/14/2008

well this restaurant has taken a serious u turn, the quality has detiorated significantly.\r Yesterday i was at this place for the buffet, the rates have gone up 10.99 and the food quality has gone down. the chicken had fowl smell and the raita was stinking.\r \r The response of the staff to the bad smelling food was that please leave this and try something else!! that answers all your doubts regarding the restaurant.\r \r well if still you want to invite health hazards and try this place out , do it at ur own risk cause i have got my feet wet twice. Pros: large seating capacity Cons: bad food more

Just really well-prepared home cooking Indian food. 2/22/2008

I have enjoyed Pasand for 4 years now. I had been going to Chaat Cafe and Masala Wok, but my palette is becoming sensitive to the subtle tastes of different curries and Pasand is head and shoulders above these two other places. Compare McDonnalds to a burger from a good steak place. The quality is fresh and the preparation is simple so the ingredients really shine. Chicken tikka masala had cubes of delicious chicken, never dry and you can tell the chicken was actually simmered in the curry sauce. Korma is delicious as well as the vindaloo - do not order this spicy, medium was hot enough. My favorite are the meat samosas - filled with spiced lamb, herbs, spices, nuts and seeds its a taste explosion in my mouth. Esspecially topped with some of the chutneys they offer with the Thali dinner. By the way, they have a buffet daily and have heard its great - never been tho. more

Great service,tasty food 2/14/2008

I recently moved to Dallas.I just came to know about the Pasand through my colleague.I have been to so many Indian restaurants in different places like New york ,kentucky and new jersey ,From that experience I can surely tell that pasand indian cuisine is one of the best to have a good Indian food .The workers are very efficient and very courteous .\r The food is very good ,especially their goat curry, masala dosa and lenntile soup are very good .I been to this restaurant for so many times .I am getting very good service every time I go there. Especially on last sunday when I went to that restaurant with my friends for the lunch (buffet) ,that restaurant was so crowded. It was very hard to find a table. But finally after 10min of waiting a waiter got a table for us. I was amazed when I saw the guys who are working there. They running to serve the customers.Every time when I go there I had never run out of water in my glass .Simply it is the best!\r Pros: Customer service and great food Cons: cost more

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! 5/11/2007

Being Indian myself, I'm always on the lookout for a good Indian restaurant, and this was definitely not one of them. There are much better choices for Indian cuisine in DFW. Food and service are poor. Staff is rude and indifferent. Pros: Decor Cons: Food, Service, Friendliness of Staff more

Avoid this... 9/9/2006

I went to this location (Richardson, @ intersection of Coit and Campbell) in Sep 06 and had the WORST experience ever at a restaurant in the DFW metroplex. when writing a review it is important to record the date of the review as it reflects the management and chefs for the restaurant at the time of the review and this can change fromtime to time. Starters was mirchi bajji which oozed oil. The dipping sauce had an unusually bland taste. The main course was spread out between thaalis and 'a la carte' entrees - The Mysore Masala Dosa was awful - this crepe from South India is a speciality dish with its taste and flavor derived from a careful process of fermentation that is almost a science in the cooking art. There have been doctoral thesises done on the fermentation of dosa batters to explore its nutrient and flavor qualities and find out what precise microbial action produces the idle dosa. In our case, the dosa we were served had no such enticing flavor to it nor taste. Mysore Masala Dosa is so called because the inner side of the dosa (ie the upper side) is coated with a masala paste and potato curry is used as a filling for the crepe. Our order had simple dry lentil powder sprinkled over the filling and the surface of the dosa as the masala with the dosa itself spread so thin as to crumble to pieces on trying to tear a piece to eat it. The dosa comes with a chutney and lentil soup or sambhar. The chutney once again was very insipid and appeared to be some day or days old - similar was the case with the sambhar. I had barely finished half the dosa when I started to feel 'different' in my stomach - I felt bloated and queasy soon after this. The thalis appeared to be prepared from refrigerated items that were simply heated up. The bread was like chips that one could break into pieces instead of being soft and chewy. Rice was undercooked and had no flavor. I returned home to a nauseous feeling. 2 yrs ago, this restaurant had somewhat better quality, but not anymore. Pros: courteous service Cons: terrible food more
