Parrett Veterinary Clinic

Used to love this place, drove from South Bend for years. 2nd to last time there, had a bad experience with them overly pushing their high $ dog food -a little too much attitude. Next time I was in, they seemed less caring and friendly, I figured I was now charted an 'unfriendly customer'. Charley our dog had a large growth on his gum, the Vet said it was normal, I asked him to look again, he reassured me that all was fine. That was a month ago now, we changed Vets. The New Carlisle Animal Clinic, immediately removed most of the tumor, did the biopsy, and today we found out it is Cancer. Friday, the next surgery is planned. Maybe with an earlier diagnosis, we would be in a better position to mend Charley, we're praying for his health to be restored. I don't know why things at Parrett have changed; do they really care more about food sales than the our pets? more

The vet who saw our animals treated them kindly and seemed knowledgeable in his profession, which, ultimately is the most important thing. However, he treated my husband and I horribly while we were there. He was extremely condescending in the way he talked to us; he interrupted us while we were asking questions and didn't take time to explain the treatment we were to give the animals. He also used profane language in talking about the pets, which I found incredibly unprofessional in the workplace. I don't know if his attitude affects the rest of the office (especially the receptionist), but in my few experiences, there was only one assistant who was approachable and helpful. Also, do not expect to be in and out in a timely fashion. In one day, just for a regular appointment, we waited for a total of 4 hours. Also, they are absolutely no cheaper than any other vet in the area. Ultimately, we were extremely dissatisfied with our experience. The only reason I didn't give this office a 1-star rating is because he was kind to our pets. Our visits, however, left us beyond frustrated, and we will not be going back, especially since there are very other reputable vet clinics in the area. more

I would direct you to Parrett Veterinary Clinic in Plymouth, IN ... they are VERY good with animals of all kinds and they are so much more reasonably priced than any other vet I've ever been to. We trust them with all of our animals from birds, cats/dogs to reptiles ... They are very caring and knowledgeable people who love what they do. You can also just walk right in, no need for an appointment .. Everything from proceedures to medicines and shots are so much cheaper than the local vets, it's definately worth the drive. more
