If you value your pet's life do NOT go to this vet. They are unethical, incompetent and money hungry.\r \r I initially went to Parkway because they were supposedly a low cost surgery vet. My dog was diagnosed with an abdominal mass and I wanted to have it removed and try to save his life.\r \r 3 weeks after his first diagnosis I took him to Parkway where they took new Xrays. He had already had an ultrasound and xrays 3 weeks prior but they wanted new xrays. The veterinarian, Tya, read the xrays and told me there was no sign of a mass anymore. We were overjoyed only to find that, months later, he was ill again.\r \r I took his records to a new vet and when they examined Parkway's xrays they clearly saw the still-existing mass. They took new xrays and the mass had grown and was encroaching above my dog's colon in an inoperable area which ultimately caused his rapid decline and subsequent death.\r \r Parkway was negligent and incompetent. Had they made a proper diagnosis my dog may not have had to die.\r \r They are horrible people. Stay away. more

I had my male kitty neutered and I found the process to be efficient and well organized. I received confirmation emails and text messages that clearly stated the preop requirements and the timing involved. Dropped kitty off at 8:00 am and received a call about 2:30 to pick him up. Only problem with the kitty is it is difficult to keep him quiet as is recommended, but that is kitty's issue. Staff were professional. The facility is dated, but the price is a fraction of what my regular vet charges so it was well worth the drive from Encinitas. I found the pricing structure helpful because there are many options. I chose many of the extras, because I can afford to pay for them and it was still way cheaper and felt I was supporting a worthwhile low cost service. more

I have a cat that had REALLY bad breath and stopped eating! I was afraid I was going to have to put her down. Dr. H examined her and recommended a dental. She's about 7 and has never had a dental before. I didn't realize how important it was to keep up on her dentals, etc. She had to have a couple teeth extracted (I guess they were fractured and causing her pain, which was the reason why she wasn't eating!)\r \r Now, she's back to normal. She's eating soft food and is free of pain. I'm SO HAPPY with Parkway Pet, I'm referring all my friends there now! more

I'm really impressed with this clinic. My dog had a torn ACL and had a ""tightrope"" surgery done here. I drove 60 miles from Riverside area because they were reasonably priced, and a friend of mine told me they were good. They are amazing! My dog is back to 100% now. The quality of care at Parkway Pet Clinic was beyond my expectations. Definitely 5 stars! more

This place is AWESOME! I'm a young, single girl, struggling to pay my bills along with taking take of my dog, Sadie. These guys are really reasonably priced, and truly care about my pet. I wouldn't go anywhere else more

I'm very pleased with my experience at Parkway Pet Clinic. The front office people were very warm and welcoming. They got me in for a last minute appointment, my dog Pinky was sick. The whole staff was remarkable and caring. Dr. Tya and Dr Bill were caring and considerate about me trying to take good care of my dog while being on a budget.\r \r I give this place and the whole staff 5 stars more

Parkway Pet Clinic was recommended to us by our regular vet when they couldn't see our cat on short notice.\r \r The woman who greeted me at the front desk was friendly and helpful and the vet was really great as well. Knowledgeable, caring, friendly. She took time to talk with me and also didn't upsell a bunch of unnecessary tests. Generally, it was a fantastic experience.\r more

I love this place! Dr. Henderson has helped both of my cats and I can't express my gratitude enough. The front desk is wonderful and even while they are very busy, they have taken amazing care of my babies. I went in today with my cat who had an open wound and they\r took great care and most importantly I trusted them completely. Thank you everyone at Parkway Pet Clinic, I am so glad.\r more

Don't go there! Horrible experience....I don't think the vet even likes animals! more

We had to rush our baby puppy to Parkway Pet Clinic when she stopped breathing unexpectedly. They got our little Tabby’s heartbeat back momentarily, but they were ultimately unable to save her life. Despite this, in the ensuing few days and weeks, the staff bent over backwards to ease the devastating blow. I have to mention Dr. Tya Henderson and William Henderson, who were truly outstanding in both providing care and showing utmost kindness.\r \r I would absolutely not hesitate to bring our dog here again.\r more

The tech team was fantastic and extremely nurturing. Our dog was a bit anxious and each and every Parkway Pet Clinic employee from the front desk, to the OR was friendly and proficient.\r \r Special thanks to Dr Tya Henderson, (and Paul the vet tech) and anyone else who worked on our dog. She has bounced back quickly and is ready to chase balls and go swimming once again. You guys are fabulous!\r more

This vet was recommended to me because my dog had another seizure and was very sick. I was told to come to this place because it's cheaper than other vets. That will probably be the last time I try to save money when it comes to my dog's health. \r One of the girls at the front desk was really sweet and friendly...but when it was time for her to go home, the girl that replaced her was rude and incompetant. So much that she was even chatting on her cell phone while we were waiting to pay for the visit.\r The vet that looked at my dog was Dr. Mayor who is very difficult to understand. I felt that we were being rushed during the visit. When trying to ask questions, i wasn't getting full answers. I was left very confused. Then came the recommendations and the bill. It was incredibly expensive. I tried to come up with a way to get the full amount but it was starting to get very difficult which in turn, made me really emotional and was very embarrassing. As I was trying to figure things out...the girl seemed really disheartened towards our situation. Not that i was looking for sympathy, but to tell us that we were denied for Care Credit in front of another customer was not the way to go about the situation. As we started walking out, the nurse that saw us in the exam room followed us out because they had almost forgotten to give us the dogs medicine!!\r \r I'd have to say the nurse was the best part of the visit. Due to a limited amount of time we had to treat my dog, I had to make another appointment to have tests done and was finally able to make it work financially. When my boyfriend took my dog to drop her off, he called me and said that the tech who took the dog back was incredibly rough to the point where my dog struggled out of her collar AND leash. They came back and put a NYLON ROPE AROUND MY DOGS NECK to take her back. Instead of taking up the offer of my boyfriend walking her back calmly until they reached the x-ray room. I've been waiting for her blood test results for over 24 hours. \r I just called to get the results and was told the doctor is not there??? I was told yesterday that they'd call me before 3pm today for the results!! (it's currently 3:42pm)\r \r I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO SOMEWHER ELSE! \r \r These people treat animals just as that. ANIMALS, not family members. It breaks my heart and i will NEVER take my dog there again. I'd rather pay the additional $50 instead of putting my dog and myself through that again. more

I trust my pup with no one else. If I move away I might have to drive or fly back just so my dog can keep these wonderful vets and their technicians.\r \r Though the practice stays busy, they will always find a way to get you and your animal in, especially if there is something serious. I recently had to call because my dog was having stomach issues and wanted to know what would be best. \r \r This place cares, and it shows.\r more

These guys are great. They're always completely slammed, and yet I never feel like I'm getting hurried out the door. Our vet (Dr. Tya Henderson) is extremely attentive and seems really concerned about his patients. Best vet I've dealt with in a while. more

I've been to 3 appointments here after recently adopting 2 kittens. This is a busy office, but they have been able to get me same day visits more than once, which I really appreciate! I saw a different doctor each time and have no complaints. The vets are personable and professional, and the staff are helpful. more

I take my 2 year old Westie Daisy to see Dr. Tya Henderson. We've also visited the other doctors -- they are all really great as well.\r \r It's easy to get an appointment, even if it's not an emergency.\r \r I bring all 5-6 dogs to this hospital. My breed -- Westie's in particular have all kinds of allergies and ailments that the doctor is able to treat in an affordable yet effective manor.\r \r Dr. Tya Henderson is responsible for locating and recommending treatment for a tumor growing in my Shepard mix before I even noticed a problem.\r \r The staff here cares about the animals and their owners. Highly recommend Parkway Pet Clinic! more

7/12/2012\r Worst Vet Experience Ever! My precious boxer got in a fight with another dog in the home and was severely injured. We felt that our dog needed immediate attention and took him for the first time to Parkway Pet Urgent care due to the proximity to our home. Once we got Apollo in, we were presented with an itemized list of service totaling over $1,600.00. Because we've been through instances where vets have padded the cost estimate, we began questioning what the costs were for and the necessity of certain items. \r \r The vet tech there took great offense to our questions and became increasingly snippy with us. This was upsetting, and we remarked that there seemed to be a lack of compassion in dealing with us. The vet tech got extremely angry, and began raising her voice at us, saying we were calling her names. She refused to answer any more of our questions because she didn't like our ""tone"", and telling us she would get our dog and we could go somewhere else for care. We responded that we would, and would also be making our opinions about their horrible customer service public. The whole situation escalated into a serious verbal disagreement, and I asked if they could just stabilize our dog so we could take him somewhere else.\r \r We were under great stress and were not at that time advised of the seriousness of our dog's condition. It was only when the doctor came in with teary eyes saying that our dog could die if he did not go into surgery immediately did it hit us that we needed to act poste-haste. \r \r Once it was established that our dog was going into surgery, deposit paid, they called the police and followed that by a call to Animal Control. Of course, since our dogs are all licensed, and no crime was committed, neither the police or animal control did anything. But in our opinion, though they denied it, the Parkway Pet Clinic did that for no other reason than to try and cause us more problems.\r \r When we were able to take Apollo home a few hours later, the Parkway staff provided no written instructions for Post-op care, just a quick verbal briefing.\r A few days later, we took our boxer to his regular vet, they did the post-op checkup on Apollo. We were relieved to learn that the veterinary staff at Parkway had done a competent, professional job of treating Apollo. Best of all, our regular vet charged us nothing at all for the exam or post-op wound care, which is the type of caring customer service we have become used to.\r \r Please, if you are a dedicated dog owner and, like us, question the vet closely about what they are doing to your pet and why, do NOT go here. They are apparently not used to dog owners who don't passively accept everything they are told, and they respond extremely poorly to questioning or criticism. We have been to several vets in the local area over the years, and have NEVER received such a lack of customer service. In fact, this may be the worst customer service I've ever received from ANY business in my life. They may have a competent medical staff, but their execrable arrogance and poor customer service will ensure we NEVER go Parkway Pet Clinic ever again.\r more
