Without a doubt the best Vets in the Capital District! 7/9/2009

What a caring, wonderful practice they have! My baby who was adopted from the Humane Society and had come here from Mississippi was heart worm positive - the first Vet we went to was all gloom and doom and negative. Called Parkside for a second opinion and they took us right away! What a positive outlook they gave us -They treated her with the utmost care, concern and compassion and love and she is doing great! All the staff, from the receptionists to the techs to the Vet are truly wonderful! They are upfront about costs, and very, very reasonable compared to many vets. I highly recommend them to anyone and they are worth a drive from wherever you live in the Capital District. They make you feel like family. more

Super care and service 3/9/2009

I have a middle aged cat who had not been to the vet beyond his neutering long ago. Parkside was recommended to me by friends when he began acting strangely and not using his litter box, and they gave me caring advice by phone, which led me to bring him in when he didn't improve. I was impressed by how quickly Dr. Meyer saw him - both in appointment setting and in the tiny bit of time I waited for a vet to check him. He remained calm through out the visit, thanks to the vet tech who held him and continuously showed him attention. Every single person I met during the visit impressed me with their knowledge and genuine love for my little guy that they just met. more

Best Veterinary hospital in Albany 1/6/2009

I highly recommend this office if you are looking for a place to take your pet. Every veterinarian in this office cares. Dr. Lapos is a new addition and I highly recommend her! It does tend to get pricey, but they do not charge you for anything unnecessary and will never try to "get more money" for anything like other vets. They are upfront and honest, and the service is unbeatable. Pros: Service, Veterinarians, upfront, and quality Cons: A bit pricey more

No Worries 11/8/2008

I was concerned when we had to move, and we'd gone to our previous vet for 15 years. I can't say enough about the people and the atmosphere at Parkside. Professional, caring, deeply concerned about the animals entrusted to their care, and kind to humans, too! more

Top notch 7/21/2008

very good staff all around, very accommodating, and they really know what they're doing.\r I have taken my beloved BRT for the past 6 years, and Stoli loves them...and, at an active 120lbs, he's not the easiest to deal with.\r They actually saved his life at least once (cancer).\r I recommend them to one and all very highly. more

Excellent, caring, loving, compassionate..... 6/14/2008

We have been taking our animals to Park side to see Dr. Devres for about 20 years now and would not go anywhere else. Not only is Dr. Devres a caring and loving vet, I find him to be very knowlegeable when it comes to treating my animals and he will always let me know what he would do if it were his animal and not try to talk me into anything. I entrust my pets to him 100% and would high recommend him to others, He has always treated my boys wonderfully and they always seem to be at ease with him. I can't praise him enough as well as the office staff. Thank you Dr Devres and Debbie and all the other workers there at Parkside.\r Cheryl Miller (Moose and Max's mom) more

Excellence 2/26/2008

I took my cat here and they were wonderful with him and me.Mufasa was my baby and they treated him with dignity and the up most care that he needed. Even when I finally had to put him to sleep they were respectful and I felt their sadness for me and my loss. I would recommend them to anyone, they are great more

Only rated and 8.9 out of 10?! 12/11/2007

My family has taken our pets to Parkside for several years now, and we've nothing but the highest praise for the place, the people, and their care and caring. Today I took a stray that adopted our home, and Dr. Meyer and all of the other staff, from the front desk to the techs, were the best. Hats off to all of them. more

Wonderful service, great staff 11/13/2007

I have been taking my dog to Parkside since she was 7 weeks old. Dr. DeVries is a wonderfully kind, caring, and committed vet. Dr. Caires is also a great vet. The staff is also extremely friendly. This is the only place in the area that I trust 100% with my pet's care. Pros: Excellent staff, accessible schedule, attentive care Cons: Somewhat Pricey more

Outstanding medical care 6/3/2007

Dr.DeVries has been our cocker's primary care giver for 11 years. Illnesses and injuries have run the gambit. He has met every challenge we've brought him with kindness and immeasurable skill in diagnosis and treatment. He treats an injured paw with as much caring as he treats heart ailments. When it's your dog on the exam table this is exactly what you hope for. He takes his time with each dog at each appointment and makes sure everything is explained and all our questions answered. The medical care he has provided has been exemplary. Over the years different courses of treatment for specific ailments have been recommended. more

Parkside is the Best! 5/24/2007

I can't say it any better than did the writers of the first two posts, so this is just to add my praise. Ditto concerning the immaculate facilities and the friendliest and most helpful staff in any office/hospital, whether for man or beast. Dr. Richard DeVries has taken care of our three cats for the past six years. He is so intelligent and professional, yet gentle and caring, and was a godsend when confronting the devastating end of life issues in our two elderly cats, one with heart disease and one with chronic renal failure. At one point, per my option, he even supervised six months of subcutaneous fluids at home for my cat with renal disese. I wouldn't go anywhere else! Pros: Can't recommend highly enough! Cons: None more

Best vertinary care for pets 4/26/2007

We have used Parkside Veterinary Hospital since the early 1990s, and there aren't enough superlatives to describe how wonderful they are, in every aspect of medical care for beloved pets. They have cared for our five (going on six) dogs and one cat. One dog had epilepsy, two had Cushing's, one had sinus cancer, one had aggressive tendencies, and the kitty had congestive heart failure. Each one received superior, thorough, competent medical care from the veterinarians, as well as gentle, patient, understanding and competent handling and care from the technicians. Our animals have received care at Parkside for everything from routine wellness visits and tests to diagnostic tests, x-rays and ultrasound to major surgery, to therapeutic acupuncture and chiropractic treatments. We have been completely satisfied with every aspect of the care provided. Everyone and his/her animal is treated, always, with kindness, compassion, courtesy and respect from the entire staff. The receptionists never fail to be courteous, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Parkside's physical facility is impeccably clean, from the sidewalk to an entrance ramp to accommodate old animals to the waiting area to the exam rooms. Parkside is well-ruun and efficient and a provider of the best medical care possible, for our cherished animals. Their Saturday and evening hours are a big plus, too. Pros: Excellent care, cleanliness, friendliness Cons: None more

Parkside Veterinary Hospital 4/19/2007

How do I find the words to thank Dr. Nina Caries of Parkside Veterinary Hospital? Almost 18 months ago, my 13 1/2 year old beardie with two serious health issues was referred to Dr. Caries. Dr. Caries has shown extraordinary skill and compassion during her treatment of Jordie. Thanks to her, his quality of life is good as his presence in my life continues to be a daily gift. Without Dr. Caries, Jordie would not be here today. All of the receptionists and techs are outstanding people whose many kindnesses and patience with an old dog and his person are much appreciated. Jordie and I happily make the journey each week--180 miles round trip. Pros: Professional and compassionate Cons: None more
