DO NOT RENT FROM THEM; THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY 12/13/2011

As an employed professional at IU I thought I would ignore the poor reviews and take a chance on renting from Parker. I thought that maybe they would treat me a bit different than a college student, especially after the renting agent looked me in the eyes, shook my hand, and asked if he could prove that the reviews on-line were false. Big mistake! Before moving out I hired a professional cleaning service to clean the place from floor to ceiling. Parker managed to say that the place required them also to hire multiple cleaners for multiple hours totaling a few hundred dollars that I never got back. They also made up claims that various things needed to be replaced. These same defects were listed on the move in report. When I called them out on this, they changed the story to say that the defects were on items that were listed as in good shape on the move in report. It would take weeks for them to respond to written request concerning the deposit and it took months for them to finally send me a partial refund of the deposit. I imagine they hoped that I would just go away and that they could keep the deposit. Save yourself the hassle and look to rent from someone else. These guys are a fraud. more

Say goodbye to your damage deposit 8/17/2011

Unlike some of the other reviewers here, I found Parker to be helpful and professional while I was living in one of their properties. But, when I moved out, they really ripped me off when it came to my damage deposit. I have never gotten less that 100% of my damage deposit back anywhere I've ever lived. They charged me for cleaning, even after I spent hours cleaning the place. They charged $75 to change the locks - a $45 service call fee and $30 for parts. They replaced a blind (I don't know why. I was fine.) They charged a $45 service call fee plus the cost of the blind. Of course, even though the locks were changed and the blind replaced on the same day according to my invoices, they charged them as 2 separate maintenance call fees. Goodby $90. They charged $150 for steam cleaning the carpets. It was ridiculous. I got less than half of my $1000 damage deposit back. Be careful. They will find a way to take your deposit. No matter what kind of condition you leave the place in. more

Avoid Parker Real Estate Management 8/17/2011

When looking for houses in Bloomington, many students do not think about which real estate companies are best to work with. Well if you're smart enough to research these companies, please learn from my mistake and avoid working with Parker Real Estate Management. They are very very money hungry. I rented a house from them last year- terrible service: extra charges and fees and don't expect to get back your security deposit. When there was an issue with the house (dishwasher leaking, and front door lock broken-yes, very scarey-), they never seemed to care to help. I could go on and on about how much I hated working with this company, but to make things short: JUST DO NOT WORK WITH PARKER!!!!!!!! more

DO NOT EVEN THINK OF DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE FOLKS! 7/21/2011

First, let me say that I usually think that the rants on these reviews are just the result of bitter undergrads who are complaining about a company that didn't return their security deposit. HOWEVER, in the case of Parker Real Estate Management the rants are accurate and 100% correct. I am a professor and made the mistake of signing a lease with this company. They will make it seem that they are professional, will fix all the problems before you move in...but once they get your check...this will change drastically. Suddenly, they will be too busy to respond to your phone calls, or requests to fix the hundred things wrong with your place when you move in, always claiming that it is their ""busy"" time of year which in fact is ALL YEAR LONG. Then, when you move out, after you have cleaned the place from top to bottom, expecting to get screwed over a little on the security deposit...figuring you will get about half back even though you left the place in great shape...you will get a check for like $35...being chared $50 to replace lightbulbs that were fine when you left, $45 for smoke detector batteries that were fine when you left, hundreds of dollars for marks on the walls that were there when you moved in (of course not on their movein inspection)...am I bitter...YES...did I take pictures of everything and still get screwed over...YES...am I exaggerating... NO!!!!!! Do not even think of renting a place from these people, living out of my car in the walmart parking lot would have been a better experience.\r more
