I actually had fun buying my glasses !! 1/5/2007

I never knew that buying glasses could be fun!! My exam was thorough... and the office staff really made my buying glasses such a fun experience. My kids were torturing me, and one of the staff members found a way to entertain them while I picked out a pair of glasses. And, they sent my kids home with free goodies too !! Pros: a great staff, very patient with my kids more

Pushy sales people and arrogent doctor. 1/5/2007

I came in to park west because they took my insurance plan. Not only did they tell me that my plan wasn't very good, they actually tried to get me to buy a pair of overpriced glasses for reading. UFT members be very aware of this place. My union delegate will be notified of this place. Pros: NONE Cons: Not UFT friendly more

great friendly place- best selection of frames I've seen 1/5/2007

my exam was very thorough and lasted over 1/2 an hr. The receptionist then proceeded to show me so many frames , I couldnt decide. I felt like I was making her nuts , but she was so patient. MaryAnne- you're a saint for putting up with me!!! I felt like they really cared so much about me personally, not just trying to make a sale. No wonder all my neighbors go here. Pros: service with a smile - very patient staff ... Cons: none, really... more

great friendly place- best selection of frames I've seen 1/4/2007

I can't believe anyone would give Park West Vision a bad review - I've been going to then for about 30 years, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. The exam is thorough, I've never been rushed through anything . . .and people are right - you can take hours to pick out a frame. They are patient and totally honest . . .and the price is right. more

What a great store! I haven't needed glasses since I had laser surgery a few years ago, but I love buying sungalsses here. The lasrge selection of candy at the reception desk isn't bad either. Pros: frame selection more

My mom has been a customer here for over 20 years. Of course, she's greeted warmly by the staff, who have also been there a long time. Last month she went in for an exam, and bought new glasses. more

My mom has been a customer here for over 20 years. Of course, she's greeted warmly by the staff, who have also been there a long time. Last month she went in for an exam, and bought new glasses. A week ago, the optician showed up at her door with another new pair of glasses! He explained that he noticed an error on her record card, and rather than make an elderly lady travel to fix it, he made up a whole new pair (and didn;t ask for the old ones back!) I've always liked Park West Vision, but this was icing on the cake! more

The selection here is incredible! (they actually carry frames that you will wear), as is the service. Unlike other such places, they will take as much time as it takes to find the right frames for your face and give honest assessments of how each looks and without the slightest hint of sales pressure. once the glasses are ready, they'll sit with you for as long as it takes until the fit is perfect! i just bought a pair of glasses there a few weeks ago and have subsequently gone back to purchase a new set of sunglasses as well. Each time, everything has turned out perfectly. great place, great products, great people. more

Such a nice warm friendly " neighborhood" store 11/16/2006

Lovely staff, wonderful doctor. He gave me such a thorough exam after my explaining to him how my vision was deteriorating and all the problems i was having. My exam was almost 1/2 an hour. Then one of the girls sat with me for a very long time while I must have tried on 30 frames. She was so patient with me.. .. I can't imagine who must have written the other reviews. I'm a neighborhood girl.and have always gone here. For some stupid reason I had decided to go to another local establishment because of all of the rave reviews on this site. Boy were those reviews wrong and misleading. I'll never have my eyes examined anywhere but here. I trust my vision to Dr. Capetola and Scott. Although the waiting room was packed, I was seen very promptly for my appointment. Pros: great staff, tons of glasses to choose from more

Terrible job on glasses, bad prescription 11/16/2006

Thinking that a local shop would be a pleasant and reliable experience was quite a mistake! Instead, I was treated to rude service and a highly unhelpful doctor. I dropped off my frames to have my lenses replaced and returned only to find that the lenses weren't cut properly. I had to fight with them to replace them and even after the 2nd attempt, they are still unwearable. Get your act together, Park West Vision. Until then, AVOID this place! Pros: Location Cons: Service more

Having spent too much time and money at the uber high end eyewear stores in the city I decided to give this neighborhood place a try and was glad I did. Their selection is great-from funky to conservative-there is really something for everyone here. More important the service is excellent. The woman salesperson not only had great suggestions but was patient to the point of suggesting more styles even after we had narrowed down our choices to several frames--all this service provided with incredible attentiveness and no attitude that often is present in eyewear shops. And if this wasn't reason enough to shop here the prices are reasonable-even on the high end frames of which they have many to choose. A great eyewear store - and don't forget to grab a handful of candy from the bowl at the front desk! Pros: everybody smiles more
