Park Road Alterations

I had a Vera Wang bridal gown that required fairly difficult alterations - the gown has intricate lacework around the bottom, but needed to be shortened by several inches. I was nervous, but Suzanne did unbelievable work! I couldn't even tell the lace had been removed and re-sewn, except that the dress was shorter! She also let out the dress for me - this alteration required her to replace the zipper, which she did at no additional charge.\r \r Suzanne was friendly and professional, and I was absolutely blown away by the quality of her workmanship. The price was beyond reasonable - I honestly can't believe how cheap the alterations were, given the hours of hand sewing that were required. \r \r I spent a long time searching for the right seamstress for this job, and travelled all the way from Asheville to Park Roads Alterations - and I'm glad I did! I would recommend Suzanne to absolutely everyone - she is definitely the best at what she does! more

Ann is awesome! I brought my wedding gown to Ann to see if she could fix the mistakes someone else had done. I was so pleased with her professionalism and attention to detail. She not only was able to correct all the horrible alterations that was done but she did it in a few days. She really went above and beyond my expectation and was able to salvage my gown 1 week before my wedding. My first experience with Park Road Alterations was excellent! Ann altered my wedding dress so that it would fit perfectly! Even though the bodice had many tiny beads, Ann sized it down beautifully! She also hemmed it so that it would be long enough to be elegant, but I would not trip on it (and I didn't). Since I was planning the wedding from out of state, I had limited flexibility, but Ann worked with my schedule and always had my alterations ready on time. Since then, she has altered many items for me and my parents who also live in Charlotte. I still bring clothes with me when I visit my parents in Charlotte so that Ann can alter them. I was very skeptical about getting my wedding dress altered in Charlotte N.C. I purchased my dress in New York and thought there would be no challenge getting it fitted, turns out there was. I called all the leading wedding dress salons in town, and none of them would touch my dress or were charging upwards $1000. I found Ann she made me feel right at ease instantly!! Walked in and I got a .... Yeah?! I said okay, how are you doing. Have you ever been here before?! NO.... Im not from here.... I would like to get some letters stitched on a garment. That will be $5 per letter!!! Wow, that seems a little high? You paying for my TIME!!! I kindly packed up my work and said thank you. I had 5000 pieces that I wanted to get stitched. From the moment I walked in it was like they did not want me in the building. I work in the entertainment industry and I will NEVER us or refer someone to them. I took my wedding dress to Anne for alterations. It was a size too small on the top & didn't zip. I was a little worried that she wouldn't be able to do anything with it. But, I left it in her hands and when I returned a month later it fit perfectly. As I tried it on again, it became clear that the skirt was too large so she took in the sides and added the strings for a bustle. She asked me to come back in another 3 weeks for the second fitting. When I did, it's like a brand new dress - fits me perfectly and looks great. Her work is very good and right about what I thought I'd have to pay - $200. Ann did a wonderful job with my wedding dress. I needed the dress taken in in the bust, hemmed, and I needed a bustle. When she was finished, the dress fit like it had been custom-made, just for me, and I loved the bustle that she created--it worked perfectly with the skirt of my gown. The cost was more than I had planned to spend, but Ann was very upfront and honest with her estimate, and it was well-worth it to know that my dress was in good hands. All my friends go to Ann for all of their alterations, and if I ever need a bridesmaids dress or anything else altered, I will definitely go to her. Pros: Highly skilled seemstress more

if you have an old dress or any outfit and you hate to throw it away? take it to anne she is a magician . i braught to her my old blah off white blah dress and she turn it into an elegant couture updated evening gown. i wish i can post the pic here and you ladies will see what i mean. i have been coming to ann for as long as i can remember, me and my husband just admire her honest ,friendly, creativeness, competitive pricing and quality workmanship. more power to you ann and thank you very very much for everything !! My experience with Park Road Alterations began well. My Matron-of-Honor dress needed a few minor tweaks (straps taken up, bust line taken in), and the dress was pinned accordingly. However, when I went to pick up the dress (two weeks later -- she stated that she needed this long) it was altered to be way too small in the bust & straps; also, the bill was $60! After becoming angry and telling me that I must have put on weight (I weigh the SAME 103 lbs that I did when she pinned the dress) and also suggesting that it didn't fit b/c it was ""that time of the month"" (yes, she actually said that) she finally said she would fix her prevoius work. Not only have I paid $60 for some basic alterations that were done poorly the first time, I was also insulted in the process. In Charlotte, there certainly have to be other places to go that will do great work for a resonable price, minus the attutide. I had a similar experience to the previous post, where the shop I bought my dress did the alterations and the seamstress was less than motivated to making sure my dress fit right. I was going to leave it unti I saw my portraits and decided there was no way I could wear it like that on my wedding day! After I minor emotional break down and debating on shopping for a new dress, I found Park Road Alterations on this website and read all the awesome reviews by brides and knew this was the place I HAD to go. I didn't realize how much more the previous seamstress could have done unti I put it on after their alterations. It was like a whole new dress and I can't wait to wear it!! I took my bridal gown to Park Road Alterations hoping they would be able to fix it! I bought my Casablanca gown at Dar-Lynn's in Matthews and made the mistake of having them do alterations for me. As my bridal portraits prove, the dress was too big, and too long, with a lopsided hem. \r Huong Tran is amazing!!! From the start, she was positive and confident that she could make my gown fit me better. I went to pick up my gown yesterday, and was so happy! The gown is perfect--and fits like a glove! I am so thankful for this shop and for Huong Tran's skill. She saved my gown and made me feel beautiful in it. Ann is by far the best ever! She turned my Monique Lhuillier wedding dress into a custom gown for me! She is so talented and sweet. She dosn't stop until you are completely satisfied. She is very honest and very kind. Her talent speaks for itself!! I just cannot say enough about her and New York Bride. They made my experience so fantastic. Ann went to the Loft at Southend for my fitting appointment. She walked me through the entire experience with Suzanne at New York Bride Loft. They were so kind and considerate of my feelings and opinions. Every bride should go to them!! I just could not believe how beautiful my dress was. I knew that they all came highly reccomended, but I really never dreamed that it would be such an amazing experience. In this day it is rare to be so satisfied with something you buy. This was not just a dress purchase, it was an experience. I will forever hold these ladies in my heart. Lucky for me I will have beautiful pictures to prove it!!! I can't give Ann enough praise. When I got my wedding dress in from Jenny Lee I was a little nervous that it couldn't be altered into the dress I had envisioned. I certainly was under the impression that it would take at least several fittings to achieve the ""right look."" When I came in to see the dress after the first alteration it was perfect. She had made changes to the front of the dress, lowered the back, took in the sides, hemmed it a lot (I'm 5'2), and created a beautiful bustle. All of this work and it fit perfectly after just one alteration. Even though the dress fit perfectly Ann also told me she would be willing to make any last minute changes if my weight fluctuated before the wedding. Ann was a pleasure to work with and listened to all of my concerns and requests. I would highly recommend Ann as well as NY Bride to work with on your wedding dress purchase and alteration. I had a truly wonderful experience with Park Road Alterations for both my wedding gown and rehearsal dinner dress. Ann is a true perfectionist who works well under pressure, all-the-while keeping a smile on her face and a pleasant demeanor. My Jenny Lee gown needed dramatic alterations- taking it in and hemming significantly. After just a couple of fittings, the gown was perfect and truly exceeded my expectations. And she did a BEAUTIFUL job with the bustle! I honestly liked my dress better bustled than down (thanks to Ann's experience and creative flair), which is important since you have it bustled the majority of the time! And I must admit that I was concerned with the bustle, simply b/c it seems like I have seen countless brides carrying their train at the reception b/c their bustle broke. I told Ann of my concern, and she assured me that I would not have that problem.... and with the 12-16 separate bustles I had in my gown, I had no reason for worry! Not only did she do an exceptional job with my bridal gown, but she created the rehearsal dinner dress I had envisioned. I had purchased a simple strapless dress with a bubble hem, but I wanted it to have dramatic pick-ups throughout. Without having a picture (only a poor description of my vision), Ann altered the dress amazingly perfect! I had a custom dress that no one else can get thanks to her! I can say, without a doubt, that I would recommend Ann to anyone who appreciates (and expects) great attention to detail and customer service, especially a bride! I got my bridal gown altered here. When I tried it on, I just didn't feel like it fit like it should have, nor did it look how I had anticipated. I voiced my concerns and I was told that ""it fit fine"" and ""there was nothing wrong with it."" When I showed my mom, she was appalled that I had paid Park Road Alterations for such a shoddy job. The bustline was entirely wrong and it gaped so much in the arms holes that my mom could see my whole breast when my hands were slightly raised. Also the lining was so big that it was bunching underneath the dress and causing wrinkles. When my mom called to talk about the problems, Ann started yelling, told my mom that nothing was wrong with the dress, that it was ""perfect"", and that I must have gained a few pounds (the dress was too big). She (after the yelling) told me I could come get the dress fixed to which I responded that I did not trust her to fix it. A bride should feel good in her wedding dress, not be told that it's perfect when it isn't. And she sure shouldn't be yelled at for saying that the dress doesn't feel good. I do not recommend Park Road Alterations. more
