An Oasis in the Heart of the Magnificent Mile 6/16/2006

From the moment you walked through its doors into the lobby filled with museum quality artwork, you know you are someplace special. This dazzling hotel is located in the heart of Chicago's main shopping and dining district, the Magnificent Mile. The Park Hyatt Chicago offers world class accommodations with a four-star dining experience in its restaurant NoMi (which stands for north Michigan, as in avenue). It has a great wine bar that's a spectacular setting for drinks with your special someone. The rooms are equipped with all the amenities you'd expect in a fine hotel: terry robes and slippers, great sheets, jacuzzi bath, great views of the city. What you don't expect but make the experience even more hedonistic are the in-room CD player (to listed to your own tunes), flat screen TVs (including in the bathroom), candles to light, cookies to welcome you, and a window seat lined with pillows for that city-viewing experience. It's cozy without being ostentatious, and you will feel well taken care of. Expect to pay big bucks for such pleasure; it'll be well worth it. more

  • The Scene
Contemporary decor in warm earth tones serves as a backdrop for spectacular artwork. In addition to superior facilities, such as a spa and salon; a health club with a 25-yard pool; and a restaurant with a killer view, the Park Hyatt offers service galore. Guests may request butler service for "just about anything legal," as one staff member noted. The hotel also offers emergency computer technical support and 24-hour room service.

    The Details
The 203 guest rooms take up 18 floors of the 67-story building. Top floors house multimillion-dollar condos. Suites and rooms with balconies are a seamless blend of modern decor, comfortable furnishings and high-tech accoutrements. Each room has four two-line phones, DVD and CD players, and flat-screen TVs in both the bathroom and the bedroom. Oversized soaking tubs have sliding cherry-wood doors that open to views of the Chicago skyline.
