I've been a patient of Dr. Browning for many years, even before his practice in Stillwater. I make the drive up from the Twin Cities happily to have work done. Dr. Browning is trustworthy, professional and lets you know exactly what's going on throughout your procedure, which I like a lot . I highly recommend the staff and service here as well. I always feel well taken care of when I leave the office. Just please don't go moving any further away! more

We see Doc Browning and his staff at the Somerset Office, not only are they local but they are way better than any other dental offices that we've been to over the years. From the first time you arrive, they make you part of the family! Thanks and keep up the good work! more

I have been a patient of Dr. Browning for many years. Even though I now live a state away from St. Croix Valley Dental, I still make the trip for my dental visits - and don't plan on stopping. Not only is Dr. Browning an outstanding dentist, but the office is state-of-the-art and the staff does everything possible to make your visit pleasant and comfortable. Every person who works for Dr. Browning treats me like a family member. I am very grateful for all the Doctor has done for me and am always amazed at the speed he is able to work at. Thank you so much to everybody at St. Croix Valley Dental! more

Dr. Browning and his staff were all very professional and well trained. I felt like they really cared about my dental health and made me feel welcome while I was there for my cleaning. Since my last visit, my entire family has switched to this office and have had the same positive experiences. more

I have visited Northern Dental Partners twice in the past several years for help with a custom-fitted mouth guard. I was in and out in about 15 minutes each time and the staff was very polite and helpful. They even let me keep the plaster mold of my teeth, which is pretty cool :-) I would definitely recommend them to a friend and I will be sure to go there if I need any further dental work. Great people, great business! more

St. Croix Valley Dental is a fantastic place to go for all your dental needs. I have never been disappointed in the care I have received here. Dr. Browning is an amazing doctor and I would definitely recommend him or anyone here. I never leave reviews for places but I felt compelled by the great service I received to leave one today. more

I have been to a few different practices and I have to say Dr. Browning and his staff are top notch dental care providers. There is no other practice in the area I will go to. more

I wrote a virtual novel on how awesome Dr. Browning and St. Croix Valley Dental are, but the interwebs ate it. So I will give the short version. Dr. Browning is the best dentist I have ever been to and ever will go to. I was his patient for over 6 years. Even though I have lived in Minneapolis this entire time, I would make the 45 minute drive to Stillwater for the sole purpose of having him do my dental work. Friendly, professional, funny, and exacting in his work. Fixed problems caused by other dentists (and by me). I even had a 100% pain free root canal! Clean facilities and friendly staff and hygenists. The only downside is that his practice is in Stillwater. But I guess I can't hold that against him! Can't recommend him enough. more

I can't say enough about Dr. Browning and his practice; these folks are fantastic and always make me feel reassured and comfortable. Couldn't ask for a better doc! more

When my Mother -in- law moved here from down south, she was in need of a new dentist to help her replace her dentures. We sent her to Dr. Browning, who took very good care of her. He made her feel at ease and also fixed her damaged dentures while she waited for her new ones. My husband uses St Croix Dental and I go to Carmichael Dental in Hudson,Wi (closer to my work, but affiliated). We would, and have, recommend St Croix Valley Dental to our friends and family\r more

I can't say enough about these people! I have gone to 3 other dentists in my area and I will never go anywhere else. Dr. Browning and his staff are the best. I even get to watch the Great Outdoors with my favorite assistant every time. Dr. Browning is fabulous with my kids also. We had to leave the prior dentist because my youngest was creeped out by him. Dr. Browning and staff (especially Bonnie!) had her laughing and cooperative in no time. I couldn't believe that anyone could have a bad experience with them! (Probably didn't want to pay the bill :) \r \r If you want professional, friendly, and compassionate people, this is the place to go! more

In my normal life I am a 29 year old man. But, in the dentist chair i am a 3 year old girl.\r \r When I first saw Dr. Browning I needed a root canal. My mouth hurt so bad that I was eating a tube of Oragel and a bottle of Advil to get through my day. I work in the broadcast industry so taking time off isn't an option. It was either grind through the pain or eat enough acetaminophen to make it through a show. \r \r It was becoming apparent that I was going to have to get over my fear and go to the dentist or die from advil abuse and liver failure. \r \r Dr. Browning is by far the best dentist I have ever met. He calms my fears so much that I actually don't mind going to the dentist. The friendly staff and comfortable office makes the whole experience tolerable. I would say great, but you're still going to the dentist and getting work done. When can that ever be great?\r \r I will only let Browning and company work on my teeth. I live in the western suburbs of Minneapolis and very willingly drive an hour or more to make sure I get the best dental work possible. \r \r You can trust this crew to handle your issues with care, professionalism, and above all else a positive attitude. more

Confused 11/15/2011

I just pulled up google to get a phone number for my dentist and low and behold my eye is drawn to some negative reviews for St Croix Valley Dental. I don't know if it is possible that we can go the same place. I have never been treated with anything but the most up front care from this office. I was on an employer based insurance when I started going to this office and then lost my job and was on state insurance for a while. I am not thankfully employed again and back on normal insurance, there was never a break in the excellent care I received from the office no matter who or when I was in. All I can say is you need to try this office for yourself, they are truly nice caring people from the moment you walk in the door till the moment you leave. more

Unhappy long-time patient.... 11/15/2011

Myself & my children went to St. Croix Dental for years but we were never treated as long-time patients. No consistency in dentist from visit to visit & they varied from Dr. Doug Wolff who was awesome to Dr. Browning who was rude & arrogant. At one of my last appts. they actually sat me down at a ""consult"" desk to review the co-pay before I left giving me the impression they had a new practice of ""counseling"" each patient on what they owed per visit after insurance. My last appt. with them I never even scheduled. I talked to a staff member on a Friday as I had a tooth ache & stated I would call on Monday if it did not get better over the weekend to make an appt. On Monday I got a call at work for an appt. reminder that same day. I questioned the appt. as I never made it & was never told the previous Friday that it was being scheduled. Staff was rude & extremely condescending because I was frustrated as this was the 2nd time an appt. was made that I didn't schedule. Then they terminated my care for ""missed appointments""! Good riddance St. Croix Dental! more

BAD EXPERIENCE!!! 10/19/2011

I had new insurance so I had to find a new dental office. My insurance covers preventive dental care %100. I should get exrays, exam and cleaning with a fluoride treatment. I chose this one only for convenience. I showed up and was asked to see my insurance card. Then immediately brought back by Becky the hygienist. she started the exrays then the exam. I was told I needed a deep cleaning procedure and that my insurance would not cover it. I was then brought to a desk to go over my payment options. I felt like I was at a used car dealership. I was told there are different amounts for different payment options. If I pay cash it's one price, if I make payments it's another. I chose cash. I made 2 appts, 1 week out for 2 fillings and 1/2 the procedure, all on my left side. The second was 2 weeks out. 2 fillings and the other 1/2 of the procedure to my right side. When I got home I read through my insurance book and found that the procedure was actually covered. I called my insurance company and they confirmed this. They even gave my the codes that the dental office should bill them with. I called the dental office and the still insisted that the procedure was not covered. I told them to cancel the procedure, that I would keep my appointments for the fillings only. When i came back a week later I found out they put my insurance in wrong but the procedure still was not covered. I had chose nitrous and on the payment brochure it said $37 under the cash column. I had to pay $61. I was told that column was for ""something else"". When I came back the next week for my fillings on my right side, they had me down for the ""procedure"". The 2nd appt was never changed when I cancelled the procedure part. But the Dentist wouldn't even see me for my fillings. They said I could come back in 2 days and get it done then. I explained that I just started a new job and I was doing my training around MY dental schedule and it would not work. I DIDN'T EVEN GET AN APOLOGY!!! I think it was a bait and switch and they must be commissioned on what they ""sell"" outside the assumed insurance limits. I give them 0 stars. The women were rude they made me feel like it was my fault that they screwed up more than once with my appointments. Not good for a new patient. more

The worst dentist I have ever been to 10/5/2011

I am normally a bit squeamish before going to the dentist, but now I know why. It was my first time here and my anxious self went up to the counter to find the most unfriendly receptionist. She never once smiled, didn't even ask to see my insurance card, and rushed me in. Then the hygienist sat me down and said she had to go as quickly as she could because it was busy. I never even got her name. She started shoving bite wings in my mouth. They were jabbing into sensitive areas. With tears forming in my eyes, I had to sit through the pain. During the cleaning I was bleeding everywhere. She was spraying water all over my face and down my chin. My old dentist would stop and usually wipe the gunk off. At one point I think I started laughing in complete disbelief because I had never gone through anything comparable. Then she said she had to do the cleaning in a half and hour only because that's what my insurance covered. The last dentist I went to I had NO insurance and they were so delicate on my teeth --- each and every time I went there. They greeted me with big smiles and were always curious about my life. I spent nearly 5,000 on dental work. With or without insurance, they treated me with the love and care every dentistry should show their RETURNING patients. I would continue to go to this dentist, but it is an hour away. My teeth are killing me now --- all because of a cleaning. It's ridiculous. I just can't believe it. Not once was I even asked how I was doing. I've never in my life had an experience like this one. It was an absolute nightmare. If you're a new patient, or if your insurance isn't that great, do yourself a favor and find another dentist. more
