Park Avenue Bridals

WOW...I WISH I had read this BEFORE I ordered my dress here. I had been to Park Ave Bridals for a few friends weddings as a bridesmaid, so when I found a dress here that I LOVED....I BOUGHT it. I SHOULD have BROUGHT it to ANOTHER place for alterations!!! I HAD a similar experience with as ""just telling the truth"", with AWFUL alterations and issues re:my strappless gown, AND even my veil. I have to say that once you purchase your dress, their ""professionalism"" STOPS!!!! I had to make FIVE trips there in the weeks before my wedding for ""FINAL FITTINGS"" and TWO DAYS before my wedding, they told me my dress would be done, and it WASN'T READY!!!! THEN they offered to ""overnight it"" to me the morning of my wedding!!! WOW...talk about AWFUL. If you DO buy your dress here, I WOULD GO ELSEWHERE for the alterations. I have to say that I LOVED my dress AND the bridesmaid dresses, BUT if I knew then, what I know NOW, I would NOT have done ANY alterations here!!!! My dress hem CAME UNDONE on the HANGER the NIGHT before my wedding!!! We had to PAY a seamstress to FIX it with 22hrs to go until the wedding!!!! AND then, the DAY of the wedding, after wearing the dress for ONE HOUR, the entire FRONT of the dress FELL, so ALL night I had to HOLD it up!!!! And the bridesmaids dresses!!!! they were coming undone at the seams BEFORE we even walked down the AISLE!!! The ONLY dress that did NOT come undone (of the 6 bridesmaids), was the girl who had her dress alterations done by her Aunt!!!! I WISH she could've done ALL the dresses, (ESP. MINE!!!) DO NOT USE their seamstresses!!!! In fact, their prices were higher than ordering online!!!! I WISH I had known this prior to using Park Ave Bridals!!! I bought my dress from Park Avenue and love it, but the service I recieved was mediocre at best. Before deciding to buy the dress, the saleswoman was very abrubt, until she realized I was really interested, at which point she told me that if I bought it that day I would get a significant discount. Since I loved the dress I decided to buy it, despite her poor attitude. Once the dress came in, I went back to try it on with some veils to get an idea of I wanted, but they suspected that I wouldn't be purchasing the veil from them, so they said veils could only be done from 10-5 during the week, which I knew was not true since other people were trying them on while I was there that night. They finally let me try some on, and said that they would give me a special deal if I bought it that night. When I said that I wanted to hold off, they went on to tell me that whatever I get from somewhere else won't match the dress and it will look terrible. \r The saleswomen here are only after a sale and a commission. If they think you are just looking, they will be extremely rude and unhelpful. And even once you have made a purchase, they go back to their old ways.... I am happy with the dress, but I wouldn't go back there again. Pros: selection Cons: service more
