I am going to school to be a teacher and just recently discovered this great store. The staff are extremely helpful. All though it is a crazy time of year (being back-2-school) all of my questions are answered and a couple of the staff always go above and beyond to help me with my projects.\r \r And the Antioch store is soooo much nicer than the Green Hills store, I mean it can be a little chilly in there but at least they have a.c. and aren't afraid to use it, unlike some other stores I've been in.\r \r And I got all kinds of free goodies, like a desk calendar and some sentence strips, and a totebag, so I really recommend that if you haven't been in there before, whether you are a parent, teacher, or just looking for a fun place to waste a little time, to stop in and check out the store, it is well worth it, oh and dont forget to ask the staff how to play farkel, its awesome!!! I'm a single dad with a six year old son who just doesn't ""get"" math. Determined to get him ""up to speed"" this summer I have searched all over town for some workbooks and things that might make it fun and interesting for him to learn. This place totally saved my life. Even though they were 5 minutes from closing, the guy (who I think is the manager) and two sweet ladies who were in there at the time were patient with me and took the time to reccomend all sorts of fun things that turned out to be perfect for my little guy! Even I'M hooked on the games! :) I'll be going back again once the school year starts for fresh material! Pros: helpful, patient, friendly, lots of variety, organized Cons: sort of hidden from the street, look carefully if its your first time or you'll miss it! more

Being new to the Nashville area, I was so glad to find this Parent Teacher store! They have everything you could possibly want to get your child ready for school. I was especially impressed with the manager of this store. While I was there, he was helping a lady in a wheel chair who had a pretty lengthy list of things she wanted to buy. He actually took the list and did all the shopping for her!! Talk about above and beyond....and he did it all with a smile :)\r You just dont find this level of customer service anywhere anymore. Kudos to the staff and manager of this store....for such a pleasant welcome to the neighborhood. Pros: customer service, parking more

I am a first year teacher and I recently discovered the Parent-Teacher Store and the staff there have been the BEST!!! They are so helpful. All I have to do is go in with a general idea and they help me find anything I'll need to do just about anything. Its unusually refreshing when your used to shopping at Wal-Mart to actually be treated like I'm important. And I signed up for this really cool thing called the A+ Club and they gave me a $10 gift certificate just for joining. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all the staff and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND shopping there! Pros: SERVICE, ENVIORNMENT, PARKING, EVERYTHING!!! more

I am a teacher - parent - grandparent. This is the store for me. The service is friendly. I am always greeted on arrival. Some staff even know me by name. Products are displayed so beautifully. The grandkids want to go there every time they visit. I am always able to get what I need and more. I have seen the manager doing the same work as the other employees. This is a very family oriented store. With parking and location not a problem, I am a regular.\r \r Not sure what happened with other customers(BELOW) but I have never had any difficulty with service or products. Frankly, these reviews confuse me? I guess the tons of other happy customers just haven't found this site yet. I shop in there ALL the time, and I have never found anyone working there to be anything less than helpful, polite, and if I am looking for something they don't have - they're doing everything the can to find it for me. The manager there is wonderful....he has turned that store completely around!! It looks amazing! Plus, I happened to be in there one night when a gentleman was trying to return something, and apparently didn't like that he couldn't get his money back. He was very loud and rude and hateful for no reason....and neither of the people waiting on him ever said anything remotely rude or short or anything. Had it been me, I might have told him where he could go! I realize that in customer service, there is always going to be SOMEONE who isn't happy with something...but I would bet that 8 out of 10 people who visit that store are more than satisfied with the service they get. Awful service. The manager has to be the worse management I have ever come across. He was rude, unproffesional, and I will never shop there again. They are losing a lot of business! more

The book I'd wanted to purchase turned out to be the last in the store. It had a major tear on the back page, as well as signs of wear and tear all around it. I asked the gentleman at the counter if he'd make any discount due to those major defects on the book. He said that discounts apply to discontinued items only, and that I did not have to buy it, but wait for the next shipment that is due in about a week to ten days. Since I had to prepare my child for the SAT test scheduled after ten days, I could not wait for the next shipment. Neither did I have the time to purchase the book online. After walking around the store for a few minutes I proceeded to pay. This time it was a lady at the counter. I asked her if there was a manager around. She said that the gentleman I'd talked to earlier is the manager. She then repeated his reply and said that I didn't have to buy the book and that I could wait for the next shipment. This was uncalled for. I have never encountered such rude manners and unprofessional attitude, let alone from a manager! It certainly tarnishes the reputation of the Parent-Teacher Store. The clerk in charged asked me to stop shopping it was time for the store to close. This person in control, her exact words, said It was not very considerate of you to enter the establishment just minutes before we were to close. What a sad moment in this stores fine reputation.
