Imagine my surprise when I walk in to rent a storage unit after work today to encounter the most bitter and hideous human person ever! I said hi, I'm here to rent a storage unit. She said, it's 10 minutes to 6! Me:is that a problem? Her: yes, we are about to close. I then left but was so irritated that I returned to ask for the owner's name. She said, you're not talking to him, he lives in Canada! I said I'm sure the owner of this property would love to know that you turn working folks away. I said according to your website, you're open until 6 (after she SHOUTED at me that they stop renting them at 5:30), not 5:30. The old lady was absolutely ridiculous. I asked her how long it takes to rent a storage unit? She said 20 to 30 minutes. Bottom line~I'm a realtor in Whatcom County, I will access the name of the owner and notify him of this wretched, unprofessional cretin that is managing his property. DO NOT RENT THERE!!! more

Normally I don't write reviews. The main reason is that (like most humans) I speak most strongly when I'm really mad but is really MY OWN DAMN FAULT! We tend to only yell when we're yelling something that isn't true and sometimes I am wrong ... just as JHARRELL is WRONG!!! For my part, I've rented at Pantec several times over the last 20-years Even taking into account that the staff has changed over this time, the worst thing I can say about them is that they treat the site's security and safety like a bunch of pit-bulls. For example, on one occasion my storage boxes led them to believe that I was storing dangerous in my unit. They weren't prying, they simply noticed the printed labels on the recycled boxes I was using ... and they were less-than-flexible until they we're convinced I wasn't putting other customers at risk. All in all, not necessarily a bad thing for a storage place! In my experience, if you even come CLOSE to following the rules, the Pantec staff is more-than-fair, friendly and flexible. Aside from the security and safety ""obsession"", one has to really PUSH the staff to get them to ""fold the arms and stand in the door."" So from personal experience WHATEVER JHARREL DID, HE/SHE MUST HAVE DONE IT REALLY BADLY AND REALLY REPEATEDLY. NEVER RENT FROM THIS STORAGE PLACE. I have several reasons why you should never rent from this storage facility. First, if you care about customer service, and/or being treated right then be aware you will not get that here. The OLD woman who manages it (the owner evidentially lives in Canada, and clearly does not want to or care to monitor how she is doing) was so rude to both me and my husband, she talked down to me, like I was completely stupid and did the same to my husband. Second, we live across country in PA and when we decided we wanted to cancel they charged us $10 to CUT THE LOCK FOR US. There was no way for us to FLY there and cut it off ourselves and they wouldn't just practice good service and do it for us, we have never been late on a payment and still they wouldn't do it for us as a courtesy service. Third, they completely scammed us and made us pay a full months rent when we called to cancel on the 11th of the month. She told me there was nothing she could do about it, it was company policy, I even figured out the pro-rated amount FOR her and she said no, and THEN let me know if I didn't pay what she said I had to pay right then and there, then she just wouldn't send the cancellation and I would continue to have possession of the storage unit and have to keep paying. I asked to talk to the owner and that is when I learned he lives in Canada. She continued to try to explain herself and why it wasn't pro-rated to the point where she had me completely confused, not surprised I'm sure that was her goal. So in conclusion, I have never been treated so poorly and scammed so badly then I did today with Pantec Mini-Storage. more
