Best pancakes in TN

Worst

I love breakfast more than any other meal, and the buttermilk pancakes at Pancake Pantry are one of my favorites-but I absolutely refuse to wait in line for something that I can g...

are you sure 10/1/2002

I have tried there eggs( not done right), bacon( fair), Hash browns( mushy and greasy), and toast (was cold and dry). Not the best in my opinion. Cons: expensive, long wait more

good food, but poor sour waitresses 9/30/2002

Have had several breakfast meetings there, and after the 5th bad, grumpy waitress we received, we decided to move to another location. We have had friendly people who will wait on us else where. Would not anyone to eat their there if they are worried about getting good service. Pros: Food, Price, Variety of food Cons: Service, Crowded, Parking more

french toast 9/19/2002

Very good food!!!! french toast-fried potatoes- sweet-potatoe pancakes!!! Truly the best breakfast in Nashville!! more

Unbelievably Overrated! 9/17/2002

The Pantry is great for two things: Long lines and tourists. The pancakes are good, but unless you choose your breakfast locations by the number of different ways you can get your pancakes, it's not deserving of its reputation. As a nearby resident, better choices close to the Pantry include Noshville, Easy's in the Village, and Tin Angel, which has a wonderful Sunday brunch. Add to the mix a non-family friendly atmosphere and a staff that's forgotten why they're so rushed (it's the customer, stupid), and it's a wonder how this eatery has lived off of location and folk-lore for so long. Pros: Pancakes, Location Cons: Lines, Staff, Ambience more

WOW! 8/14/2002

Fabulous! I was very surprised by the outcome of my breakfast at Pancake Pantry. I have lived here for over a year and finally ate there. I now know why people wait in such long lines for the food! Pros: Food, Waitress was great Cons: not cheap more

Sometimes Worth The Wait 8/7/2002

Love to go there with out of town guests...service isn't the greatest...but breakfast is incredible. The management needs to be a little more sensitive to its customers and allow anyone who works there to help out. I was next to the coffee with three bus boys standing next to it and they were not allowed to pour me a cup...what is that all about? Pros: Great Breakfast Cons: Poor Service more

Pancakes are perfect 8/7/2002

IS and will always be the place to take your out of town guests more

Best French Toast Around 8/7/2002

Pancake Pantry not only has the best Pancakes, my fave is their French Toast....some places such as Waffle house don't even serve French Toast, what's up with that??? Pancake Pantry gets my vote!!! more

my first stop in nashville 7/29/2002

i travel to nashville quite often, and the pancake pantry is always my first breakfast stop. you can't beat it and it's worth the wait in line! more

good food 7/26/2002

The best breakfast place in town. They restaurants name speaks for itself, they have every kind of pancake you can think of. Pros: good food, good service Cons: always crowded more

Best Place in the World for breakfast 7/23/2002

You may be overwhelmed when you walk in to watch the employees at work, moving about like a bee hive. A great family atmosphere, and the employees remember you after you have been a few times. Both side of the menu are delicious. The best pancake one the menu are the Sweet Potato Pancakes, and they serve a warm cinnamon cream-like syrup with them. The waitresses are more than happy to serve. The manager is Anthony, and he will even pitch in and cook of things get really busy. The line may look long when you get there, but they move things fast. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: needs more parking more

Pancake Heaven 7/23/2002

My Dad first introduced me to The Pancake Pantry, I guess, 30 years ago... I haven't stopped going back... Every time my kids come to town, they want to go back.. Even reminding me to tell the story of Santa, and the placard on the wall dealing with unattended children... The staff is the greatest... So friendly... And the pancakes... just great... The only trick is picking which ones... I'll always go back... Pros: Ambience, Friendliness Cons: crowded more

The best pancakes anywhere! 7/23/2002

Pancake Pantry is a must visit. Expect to wait in line if arriving after 8 am. All of the pancakes are incredible, but one of the best things about the Pantry is the service. Long time wait staff are efficient, but never seem hurried. To the regulars, they are just like family. more

More hype than taste 6/6/2002

This restaurant has been around for many years with one owner. Sometimes I think he has forgotten why he is in the business and the need to provide customer service. At times the hype is stonger than the reality and the restaurant becomes more important than the paying customer. There is no need to speak either way on the staff that ""work"" there as they are people like you and me just doing their job. The ""food"" how hard is it to throw out eggs, sausage, bacon, and pancakes. I guess I truly believe the staff works hard in a place that forgot its past and believes its future is the publicity and those who speak highly of tradition without realizing the true product. Pros: In the neighborhood, I like breakfast, Someone else bought Cons: Take it for granted, I like service, Forgot who they are more

Good breakfast spot 5/12/2002

The Pantry is a Nashville institution, as witnessed by the line outside the door on the weekend. Good breakfast fare served by nice wait staff. Although the weekend line can move fairly quickly at times, try and catch it during the week when seating is much quicker. Pros: staff Cons: lines more
