Best

Pam's Place is still there, and no eviction notice in sight; however, they were closed ""this week"" for a ""family emergency"". Hoping to try them soon; I loved her cooking at R...

Worst

While we have never eaten in at Pam's Place, our multiple take out orders have been unimpressive. The food lacks depth of flavor. Spicey: can be, Rich: can be, Bright: rarely, but...

Don't come hungry! 7/24/2005

Where to start? The old age home / parking lot tiki atmosphere? The hour plus wait for appetizers? The terribly mediocre thai food, including a curry that tasted like it was made with ketchup? I came to this place with such high hopes after reading some of the other reviews on here and because of the fact that it was voted number 1 Thai food. I don't know where the voters were eating but my pad see ew was pad see eeeeewwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!! more

Amazing flavors 6/20/2005

A friend brought me to Pam's...and now I crave it all the time. Lot's of vegetarian options. Besides being the BEST Thai Food I've ever experienced, it is one of my favorite restaurants. The most spectacular thing about Pam's...is every dish is bursting with amazing flavors. If you are ever near Venice, come to Pam's. You will NOT be disappointed. Every dish is made fresh to order...this is not fast food. Order a drink and some soup while your main course is being prepared. Pam puts her whole heart into her food and you can tell. P.S. - try the coconut custard for dessert more

The Best 5/1/2005

I've eaten at most of the Thai places around LA, but this place is the best!!! Americanize Thai Cusine is not so bad but the authentic Thai food at Pam's place is much better! Food here is tasty and not too spicy(you can ask for ""thai spicy"" if you dare :P ). You'll fall in love with thier krathongtong, any of their curry dishes, young coconut custard and sticky rice with mango. Yum! Pros: food, service, value more

great price, great food 7/30/2004

i've tried many thai food restaurant myself elsewhere throughout LA, but Pam's Place is definitely amongst the best i've had. the value is definitely great together w/ the delicious food the restaurant offers. i ordered their pineapple curry w/ chicken, and both my bf & i fell in love w/ it. their menu has a lot of different dishes to offer, so i'll have to go back probably many times in order to try everything out. Pros: food, service, value more

The Very Best 6/19/2004

Wow Wow Wow. It doesn't get any better than this in L.A. or anywhere else. Go to Pam's Place for any occasion. You won't regret it, I promise. Pros: Courtesy, Authenticity, Style more

THE BEST 6/12/2004

You will have to wait a while for your food because everything is made fresh, homestyle. It is worth the wait espcially if you order soup, appetizers and any thing else! Plus, the patio area is very cute in the evenings. Pros: flavorfull, not over-spiced, quality Cons: , small dishes, not open 24 hours more

Best thai food 5/18/2004

If you want quality in your food and do not care much about ambience, this is the place to be. Truly as the name suggests. the food is very home-style and each dish is infused with lot of love and flavor. I am a big thai food junkie and the spicy noodles and pineapple fried rice is the best I've ever eaten. This is a nice neighborhood no-fuss easy dining joint. more

No longer a walk-in delight. 3/10/2004

It used to be that you could just wander in and have one of the most beautiful Thai meal in America prepared exactly to your taste. Those days are past, not the beautiful food and presentation, but the ease of getting it. Since being discovered -- or rather re-discovered -- following her move from Lincoln Blvd., table at Pam's is a very long-shot unless you book ahead. But, it is so worth it! Plan to make an evening of it. Don't let the modest prices fool you, Pam's is not about fast food, to the contrary, it's about gourment cusine. Pros: Chef Pam, herself, Superb cooking, Ample free parking Cons: , Too popular more

What a surprise! 2/3/2004

I heard about this place in passing. And being near to a friends house, we decided to check out. All four of us were impressed. I have to say, every dish we had was packed with flavor. The pineapple fried rice was the best I've ever had. The soup was amazingly tasty. As good as any other Thai place I've had in town. But the best part about it is the prices. Very affordable. I would recommend to anyone. they also feature two menus. One normal one and one with all vegetarian dishes. A very bright idea for this city. Pros: Taste, Affordable, Selection more

I love this resturant ,it's food ,Pam, & the ambience But the draw back, (and may be it's only better training)The time it takes to get food ,is well a long wait.I know that they mage all the food to order. But 45mins for BBQ ckicken wings? It also takes time to get a sauce or extra tea etc. They do deliever ,thats a plus also for my boyfriend is around the courner Pros: Fodd quality, ambience, Pam's Smile Cons: service it slow, slow to get check, wait for more tea,etc more

Wonderful food 10/13/2003

Although the decor of the restaurant didn't do very much for me, the food at Pam's Place is great. The flaming chicken dish and eggplant delight in particular were two of my favorites. The best way to experience this restaurant is to bring lots of people and try lots of dishes! Pros: Great food, Friendly service more

Very Flavorful ! 10/4/2003

Worth every second!!! 7/27/2003

I have been to other Thai places in the city and I absolutely love this place. The food is flavorful to entice you to come back for more. I love the added spices and the personal touches that is put in each meal. They really love what they are doing. The hospitality is friendly and welcoming...just like home. Pros: Reasonable Priced, Good Parking, Quick service more

Rosalynn's now Pam's Place 2/26/2003

Rosalynn's, my favorite Thai place, has been moved. Luckily, I found it again, now called Pam's Place (Pam has owned Rosalynn's for over a decade). Their new location is still in Venice at 636 Venice Blvd., just East of Abbott Kinney. *whew* The food is just as good as it always was, and Pam is still there cooking and saying hi to everyone with her friendly smile. I'm happy to report that my favorite Thai is still aound, only with a new name, and better accomodations. There is now room to sit and eat! :) Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, Lots of parking more
