This is a wonderful place to take the kids for a couple of hours to visit their favorite animlas. Its not really as large as a zoo or have many animals. But its a grat way to spend the afternoon, especially with a toddler. Admissions is also free, so its lack of exhibits are fine. Its really educational for little children and they have fun too. check it out.. its pretty fun and its free!! more

Nice diversion for active toddlers 11/3/2005

My 19 month old son is a handful. He can run around the Junior Museum and have a ball without getting himself in trouble. The zoo is small but perfect for a quick trip. The exhibits are geared towards older kids but younger children will enjoy them as well. Rinconada park is adjacent and has a nice toddler play area. more

The Palo Alto Junior Museum And Zoo is a great place for kids. There is so much to explore here, and best of all, it's free! They have a few animals in their zoo (such as fish, racoons, etc). They have a shark exhibit there as well. You can even have birthday parties here. Great learning experience for kids. more

  • The Junior Museum & Zoo is home to more than 50 species of animals that includes approx. 200 specimens, many taken to classrooms and used in the science outreach program. Some of the animals include bobcats, raccoons, jungle bats, hedgehogs, ferrets, snakes, fresh water fish and invertebrates, birds, turtles and a giant tortoise. The Zoo In 1969, the Museum added a zoo that features more than 50 animals, including bobcats, bats, snakes, hedgehogs, ducks, ferrets, and raccoons. The Zoo's small but diverse collection of wildlife helps children develop a deeper understanding of the natural world and the relationships between people and animals. Children love the Rainbow Bridge which crosses the duck pond.
