I'm a 70 year old retired physics professional and mechanical engineer for Intel, and I have a big shop where a lot of crazy inventing takes place. Palo Alto Hardware has a broad selection, and their prices are competitive, or slightly better than the competition, sometimes undercutting them significantly, and other times it's about a wash. Nobody is perfect, but they're fine. I got to other companies for things Palo Alto Hardware doesn't sell, but I am very familiar with them. I have had a customer personal account there for many years, and they send me a $5 discount cards every time I spend $400. It isn't much, but it's better than nothing, and I would say it is an effective program. I have bought probably $1000 worth of plumbing, pipes, and stuff to make kinetic sculpture, and I have spent a lot of money down there in the last 90 days, as I drive down the street they're on five times a week. It is just real handy to go in there. They're quite good, and I like their hours too.
