STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE! The company website has vanished. The Charleston County courts online site has posted 2 judgments against them for over $5700. The Better Business Bureau gives them an "F" rating. Everything non Dorsey family members wrote is TRUE: fast talking car salesman who won't return calls, will take your money and run, poor workmanship. It is comical to see his wife writing about how wonderful they are. COMPLETE JOKE. I am surprised they are not being prosecuted for fraud. Stay away from hiring this con man and thief. At the very least you won't be out thousands of dollars for absolutely nothing or worse, spending more money on having their work fixed and redone. more

The assessments from the non Dorsey family are accurate. Once the contract is signed...the nightmare begins. Poor workmanship and quality seem to be the norm with false promises, late or no returned phone calls, and limited knowledge of the trade. All he cares about is his payment upon completion of each phase. One would be wise to not do business with this company. I am currently having their substandard work remedied by a true professional at this time. During the instalation phase of my project I was able to identify at least a dozen deficiencies which were identified by me that were elementary no/no's in construction/electrical/low voltage design faults and many more are now being identified. Several predermined specs were not honored and "slipped" in against my desires. One hires a company to perform quality workmanship. Palmetto Smart Homes and Sikes Dorsey is not the company to obtain such results. Heed my warning or suffer my same fate If one doubts my assessment Palmetto Smart Homes had a judgement rendered against them in January, 2011, for more than $5700 which may be viewed on the Charleston County courts website.
