AMAZING. 7/21/2008

Been going here for years! They have excellent service. The water never dipped below half full in our glasses, and the staff was friendly and polite. The orange chicken was some of the best I've ever had, especially after living in larger cities with a much better food (San Francisco). Very good place, I can't wait to go again. more

The only chineese food in reno. 7/1/2008

I am a recent transplant from San Francisco and find that the Palais De Jade is the closest thing to real Chinese food that there is in reno. I will admit that recipes are changed to make up for unavailable ingredients, and it would not be my favorite if I was at home, but for the area it could be considered the best. A bit pricey for the portion size, I recommend the eggplant. Pros: food Cons: price more

Be careful you don't complain!!! 4/19/2008

Food is usually great, but manager/owner is an authoritarian freak!!! If you are not satisfied with a dish you risk being kicked out!! I have experienced this personally and watched it happen to other customers. His demeanor causes his servers to come off as robotic with no personality. This is because they are probably so scared that he will embarrass them in front of the entire dining room if they make a mistake. more

Basic Chinese Food 11/19/2007

This place has good basic Chinese food, looks a little fancy but prices are average. Lunch specials even on weekends are priced at $7 or 8, but portions are really small. Located at a strip mall. I did not notice an overbearing manager and the wait staff seemed energetic and eager. I would recommend it for basic good Chinese food. Pros: Dependable Chinese Food Cons: Small lunch portion more

Great food with good service 10/17/2007

If your looking for good Chinese food at a reasonable price, look no further. Palais DE Jade offers a solid menu witha wide variety of choices. While this is not a family restaurant, the food is very inviting. Keep in mind that when you visit a family owned Chinese restaurant, that the staff may seem a little stand-off ""ish"". That's only because they want to please and english is a second language. I highly recommend a visit to Palais DE Jade. You will not be disappointed! Pros: Good food, solid service at a resaonable price! Cons: Not a family restaurant. more

Bad service and bad management 10/11/2007

I have been to this place a few times and its always the same, typical americanized chinese food and noisy place. The lady that manages the place is very disrespectful if her employees and is a real slave driver, she always has a real mean look on her face. Service is like they don't care, but with a boss like that , maybe thats why. Much better real Chinese food can be found just across the street at Shechwan Garden...looks like a small hole in the wall place but the food is terrific and real Chinese, they actuall have a special menu for the real chinese food. Sick Twice Here 10/5/2007

Another Place that used to be good but is now bad I was sick from the food here twice I have eaten here alot over the past 10 years and up till about 3 years ago it used to be good but since then BLAH also I have an iron stomach it takes somthing serious to make me sick and it happend here twice nuff said Pros: How bout that food poision Cons: small portions expensive more

This is my favorite chines restaurant. I absolutely love their general chicken. If you are looking for good food, nice atmosphere, and great service I recommend Palais De Jade. Pros: Great Food Cons: They don't deliver more

The very best in Reno. BUT.... 4/7/2006

They're so into ABSOLUTE Perfection, but they make a terrible mistake: they let it show. Every time I go, I'm almost quaking in my shoes, worrying that my waiter might make evern the tiniest mistake... in which case, he/she will be absolutely REAMED by the owner/manager. If they're reading this: 1) Never do your corrections in public. 2) Never DIS your own employees, they appear to the cust as part of YOUR team, you demean your whole place whenever you do this. 3) Allow smiles. 4) Keep Cooking, Keep the wonderful room: you're my very absolute favorite... even if my wife is now TOO INTIMIDATED TO COME WITH ME. Pros: Food, Decor Cons: Attitude, small parking slots more
