I am counting down the day until I move. I'll keep this review short, because I could write a book with all the problems I've had in this apartment.
In the summer expect your electric bill to be at least $250; the windows are terrible and are poorly insulated. They're very thin and the screens are not installed correctly (so you also can't open your windows without bugs coming in). And in the winter my gas bill went up $10 every month. It started off around $25 a month but by the winter it was up to $140.
There are bugs galore here....mostly spiders and wasp (which I hate). And in the spring and summer crickets. They do have a bug guy come out but he's a little limited in what he will do and will only spray your apartment, nothing else. I had complained that I had a wasp nest above my bedroom window, management told me they would get on it. The bug guy said he wasn't going up there and they sent one of the maintenance men out here and he showed up with a freaking caulking gun to get the wasp out of my bedroom.....I sent him back to the office.
Also the neighbors are kind of loud. Since the windows are so thin I could hear someones cell phone conversation like they were in my house. And on top of that there were two hostage situations in the month of September; one wasn't in the complex, but across the street in the Paddock condos, the other one was in this complex.
The management here is very unprofessional and unorganized. I actually prefer the manager that was here when we first moved in. They really only have one maintenance man here (although I think they have hired a new worker recently). He's very nice and hard working.
We have a townhouse and it makes so much noise. When my husband went overseas I was nervous for months because it always sounded like someone was in the house. So the structure is old.
I guess my last straw with Paddock Village is an incident that happened last Friday. My neighbors moved out and Paddock had painters go there to paint the townhouse. Whatever chemical they were using (it smelled like paint thinner), the fumes started to come into my apartment. My husband and I became very dizzy and nauseous. I thank God my 9 month old was okay. At first we thought it was a gas leak, but we later found out what it really was. I was livid. And the guy in the office actually told us to close our windows.
Anyway you can take my experience and not take your chances with this place or may want to experience it for your self, because we were like that but every review I read about this place were dead on. Trust me save your money. And run while you still can. Also Ask to see a vacant apartment or townhouse, please don't just go off of the display unit.
