Opportunists 1/10/2007

They will let you pay as much as you want. Buyer beware and shop products you are considering before buying from them. I have found that they will deal if you know what a fair price is. My first quote from them was $1,500. Found the same stuff online for $850. I was convinced that I was getting quotes on different products so I called them back to confirm. When I told them what the products cost online, they said they are required to quote MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) in accordance with the manufacturer. Not so. I previously sold products into the consumer electronics market and MAP has nothing to do with quoting pricing. When they realized that I was reasonably informed of market prices, they offered pricing that was competitive. Do your homework before you buy. more

WHEN YOU GET A QUOTE MAKE SURE YOU TALK TO OWNER OR ELSE THEY TRY TO SCREW YOU OVER BY OVERCHARGING MORE THAN DOUBLE THE AMOUNT 8/11/2006

Well I reviewed the previous comments regarding this particular store with is a complete rip you place. See i am unfortunately,A unsatisfied customer from the store. But my story starts off looking for a place to install my alarm from pacific stereo. which is an alpine alarm. Most of the big three electronics companies would not install this alarm because liability problems which might occur when installing a used alarm.which is quiet understandable. So my hand was forced to call pacific stereo and get a qoute for an alarm which was purchased through their store about couple years ago. the person on the phone said that would install it. no problem it will cost between $60-$80 depending if I need parts or not. Well I told the person on the phone that I dont need any parts. Well he said, that it will be $60. I said fine I will be there in a bit. By the way I think the person's name was OSAMHA. no joke. Seriously though.By the time i got there the store owner was disagreeing with his phone rep on how much to charge me for the installion in another language from which I found very disturbing. So I asked is this going to happen or what? My schedule is complex today. So then the amount changed from $60 to $120. I explained what kind of hussle you trying to pull. and left with a couple of very rude comments. and I will never go there a again. And in fact, I recommend that no one go there period. Unless you wish to get ripped off. Pros: none what so ever Cons: a bunch of rip off artists, and con artists.like change prices radomly more

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! 5/30/2006

I arrived at 3 and didnt leave until 7. I had to return twice because the deck kept malfunctioning. Another occasion, i spent $ 150 on an alarm system that went off for 45 minutes. And i had to rip it out. When i tried to take it back, they told me they would have to charge me to fix it because i tampered with. The alarm was supposed come with a set of keys, that I NEVER received. When i came back they forgot to give me the keys AGAIN because they were rushing to close the store. The alarm they just replaced, is malfunctioning AGAIN and has to be repaired. The guys that work there are really creepy hit on any female that walks into the store. Save yourself time, and money. You will be coming back time and time again. DONT GO HERE.. Pros: Quality Products Cons: Having to wait hours, Bad istallation, Poor customer Sevice more

DON'T GO HERE!! 4/10/2006

Poor quality poor customer service and expensive. They will try to rip you off every chance they get. They are fast talkers and the installation is the worse. I had to go back there more than 5 times for them to fix my stereo. They bolted my speaker box down to my gas tank and they had to replace it. It took 2 days for them to do it and they didn't reimburse me or give me a discount or even a rental car. I warn you don't go there I'm not the only one that has had a bunch of problems and I'm still having problems with my alarm that they installed I just got fed up with them and stopped going. I also had a lot of wiring problems. Sloppy job. Rude people! Cons: poor quality, long waits, sloppy installation more

6 in one hand, 1/2 dozen in the other 2/4/2006

I purchased a large stereo system from them. I guess the more components you buy, the better the deal gets. But installation definitely falls short of what I wanted. I wanted an installation that did not show any sign of being ""other than stock"". Speaker installation was good, as was the rear monitor. The head unit could have had a little bit more attention to detail, but is satisfactory. The amplifier power cable under the hood was not installed in a quality manor (a couple of tie-wraps and no cover for the fuse box). Some functionality iissues: no audio in the wireless headphones, on-star and steering wheel controls not connected, sub box cable not tucked away, and lastly two saturdays to do the install (all day both days). Pros: selection, some prices, low cost install Cons: installation team, no quality, too many friends more

Pacific Stereo 11/28/2005

Now I have a Pioneer stereo system with custom sub woofers in my trunk. An LCD deck and all around speakers to complement the surround sound when watching a DVD. They also installed 5 inch LCD monitors behind my headrests for passengers to view. The service is good and a pleasure to deal with. The custom job they do is mind blowing. more

good system 10/30/2005

I am a Fremont resident & I am VERY surprised at some of the Negative reviews of Pacific Stereo in Fremont. I want to start off by saying that I am a Female that is not too knowledgable about car audio components. I was treated in a Very nice and professional manner by both of my Sales associates (Maz & Abdul). I purchased a full video and navigation system from them for my 2006 Ford Expedition. By the time I left the store I was completely educated about all the components that were involved in my system. I NEVER felt like i was being talked down to or hussled. Maz took the time to go through the pricing with me and 'encouraged' me to shop Pacific Stereo's pricing against ANY other store in the Bay Area & make the purchase after I was confident about the pricing. I was not ready to make a purchase that day. My fiancee deals with a different Stereo shop in Fremont and we wanted to see what kind of deal he could get. The other shop actually thought that we were lying about the pricing that I was offered & warned me to beware of 'a catch'. The reason Im writing this is because there wasnt one!!! Abdul pulled the EXACT equipment that we had talked about off the shelves & Maz honored the pricing givin to me a few days prior! My boyfriend is now a Pacific Stereo customer as are all his friends... Maz, Abdul, Moe, Eddie & Ozzy - This is a note to Thank You all!!! If you're loking for a system these are the guys to talk to... Pros: Very Competitive Pricing & Excellent Customer Service... more

pretty good 5/31/2005

i like their nice and friendly service. they are helpful and really there for your needs. they hooked my up with a awesome sound system and they are really nice. i think david was the one who did a great good job of installing my sound system. the only bad thing is that their location is weird and can be hard to find for the first time. more

Spooky 11/25/2002

Slightly aggressive sales staff only wanting their money out of your pocket. No prices marked on anything, hence need to ask. However, patient and helpful while pacing store. Beware, know what things generally cost prior to going inside and seriously shopping. I had just come from Fry's for comparison shopping and found them rather high, but I imagine that is why there are no prices on the items, they expect a haggler or they expect a ""premium price"" (note I did not say gouge nor hose you like you were Brittany Murphy in a run-down Detroit metal stamping factory) They have the whole gamut from high end audiophile to low end bargain brands. Was also being hit on by one of the sales force (aka guy who hangs around store all day and pretends to work there). Kept wanting me to get into his car to ""check out his system"" Pros: Selection Cons: No prices, Wierd Customers, Wierd Employees more
