wow, the food here is the lamest excuse for chinese i have ever had. i'm vietnamese and i know what chinese is supposed to be like. this place is totally catered to non-asians, its obvious right when you step in the door. i guess thats why they can put anything on the plate and everyone will think its so great. how can this place be chinese, there was not one asian person working there! the prices are rediculous, especially for what they serve. every dish tastes exactly the same. i ordered shrimp, beef, and fish, and guess what... they all tasted the same! the fish was mushy, the shrimp had no crunch whatsoever, and the beef had the texture of something regurgitated. the food was so poor that i just simply stopped eating. i wasnt even full... just didnt wanna eat anymore. all 4 people in my group agreed on the poor food quality. my gf ordered 2 soups, and they were equally disgusting. tasted like campbells soup with asian ingredients. that just doesnt go well together. asian soups arent supposed to taste like campbells! if you want the environment, go for it. but if you actually want CHINESE food, stay away from here. they only serve caucasian food (asian style). i would rather eat at panda express. would never come back here even if it was free. what a waste of money! more

slightly healthier than REAL chinese food, but not very good food 8/30/2008

If you want a good chinese restaurant with great atmosphere AND food, spend your money at Frank Fat's instead. The only dish I liked at PF chang's was the general chicken. It's healthier than food at Far East or Jade Fountain, but the food at PF chang's does not taste very authentic. Some of their plates have way too much salt while others are way too bland. This restaurant is made for people with a very American taste palate. Pros: nice atmosphere Cons: long wait, food is not all that great more

Average Chinese Food, overpriced 5/27/2008

I don't get the hype. Just a chain restaurant that serves average ""Chinese"" food. Much too pricey for the quality of the food. more

Great tasting, consistent Chinese 3/23/2008

This PF Changs is no different from the others in that it offers great tasting, consistent Chinese food. The location is fun in that it's right on 16th Street, a main thoroughfare in downtown Sacramento. You can sit right outside and enjoy the nightlife of Sacramento passing right by you, or sit inside and enjoy the always interesting design. The only downside to this PF Changs is it's size. It seems to be much smaller than the rest that I've been to, which could be nice if you want a more private experience, but to me it always just feels small. They do have an upper seating area, which is sort of dark and private as well, but it seems like it cuts you off from the rest of the restaurant,. The food and service of this PF Changs is the same if not better than the others. Pros: Great food, fun location Cons: Hard to park, smaller than other PF Changs more

Worth the cost 10/29/2007

I went with my family over the weekend and the food was good. Even though its pricey, I think its well worth it. For appetizers, the calamari was kinda on the bland side. No real taste. The crab wontons and dumplings were really good. For entrees, the sweet n sour chicken was nothing special. The chow fun was good but very salty. The lemon scallops and hot fish(catfish) were delicious. The orange beef was ok and the singapore noodles were very spicey. If you're lookin to clear up your sinuses try that dish! Pros: Food Cons: Parking/Some tables were in bad traffic areas more

Save Room for the Cheesecake 9/25/2007

I'm not usually big on chain restaurants but this is the exception. The food ranges from good to outstanding. Be sure to try the salmon selections (both are excellent) and by all means save room for the cheesecake. I'd take a pass on the shrimp with honeydew melon unless melon is in season. Our melon was pretty tasteless. The servers are very well trained and highly professional. more

Yummmm 4/17/2007

Longtime fan of P.F. Changs, no matter what state, what location your visiting the food is consistant and tasty. Full flavored without MSG or greasy entress. Lunch and dinner will run you considerably more than your average chinese restaurant but its well worth it. The service is fine, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the food is served quick and tasty. Great job for a chain restaurant. Suggestion, the more people you bring with you the more food you get to enjoy. I reccomend at least groups of 4 or 6, as you will probibly order 1 dish per person and share it. ENJOY! Pros: Food Cons: Parking more

great service, great experience! 2/27/2007

This is my second time at a pf chang's and i had forgotten what I was missing! The food was delicious, decor beautiful, and service excellent! My husband and I went out for a nice dinner away from the kids and it was like we were being treated royally . We were even greeted by the managerduring our meal. Our server, Cecelia made us feel so special from the second we got there with genuine interest in carrying on a conversation with us. I did not like the wine i ordered and she took it immediately recommending an excellent new glass of white like it was her pleasure. She recommended all of our dishes and they were to die for! (especially her favorite, the lemon pepper shrimp.) I have no complaints and cant wait to return. more

Average food in a nice ambience 10/19/2005

I have heard many people recommend P.F. Chang's but being a lover of Chinese food had serious reservations about how good it could be. Unfortunately, I was mostly right. The mu shu chicken was the best dish we had but the lo mein was dry & overcooked and the shrimp with lobster sauce was bland instead of the rich dish you normally expect. Dishes come with your choice of white or brown rice but fried rice is $6 extra. The ambience is very nice, as is the location, but for good Chinese food or good value I would not recommend it. Pros: Decor Cons: Average food, Fried rice extra more

Relaxing! 6/22/2005

For some people, they probably think this maybe in the higher price range, but for me, this is a great relaxing restaurant for enjoying an afternoon snakes or late lunch, so paying a few extra bucks, i think it worth that. Food may not be the best but acceptable, I like their crab cream cheese dumpling & their ""salty"" kungPao prawns. Pros: deco, service Cons: parking more

Great food, a little pricy for portion size. 4/15/2005

I've been here several times and have not had a bad food experience yet. The Chinese food is excellent. Portion size while dining in wassn't that great and I found I got bigger portions when ordering take out. Nice ambience. Very difficult to find parking nearby. Pros: Excellent food, Nice ambience Cons: No parking, Small portion size more

Great Place 4/27/2004

If you are looking for a place to take people new to Sacramento...look no further. This is by far one of the best places to dine in the greater Sacramento area. The ambience is amazing the food is great, and the surounding atmosphere is the best. It is upbeat, yet relaxed in the same instance. It is classy yet dress down. It is just flat out an amazing place to go if you want to have a nice date or a good place to take friends after work. Pros: Ambience, Parking, Food more
